Warning to everyone about scam websites selling 3 Series cards

It was my friend that likely has got burned.

The sites look legitimate but on only really hard inspection you will suspect it and still can't 100% confirm until 30days past. Some are advertising on insta

If it's not being sold by a company that has existed for several years and has a proven record of shipping then don't bother.

Try to confirm its existence with word of mouth or trusted third parties.

There are multiple sites which are currently posting listings of high value items specifically for the purpose of tricking those who have nowhere to go. If you do find somewhere is marginal trust wise, make sure to use a credit card or a system with strong built in buyer protection.

If its over £100 you are protected my your credit card provider, saying that i only purchase my computer parts from ocuk and two offers

Debit card has no protection. I have submited a claim for a charge back but thats not guaranteed. And if they cant make a chargeback due to account closed then thats it.

Sadly i dont have credit cards as i dont understand how they work. I never go into minus on my bank balance.

How do credit cards work?

Use one like you would your debit card. Instead of the money coming out of your bank account a couple of days after each transaction you pay the whole lot at the end of the month.

The slightly dodgy looking sites only get Paypal from me. If they don't support Paypal it's an absolute no go.

interesting. can u set it up so it automaticaly goes back to zero balance at the end of a month to avoid any fees.

I never gone into minus on my bank balance. so never had a need for a credit card. but the protection they give does sound appealing.

You should be able to set up a Direct Debit to pay off the full balance as it becomes due.
