"It's an absolute casserole down there!"
After we watched, and generally liked, season 1 of that show we ended up struggling with season 2. It was probably related to the time period it was featured in but I do remember we were both a little relieved when it had finished. Hoping for something better if and when season 3 drops.
Lucifer must be working his charm....... we are kinda mellowing to the series now, lol. Much to our surprise. The biblical stuff is interesting.
Little Fires Everywhere (Amazon exclusive)
I don't normally watch US drama stuff, but this is a (I think) a one off / limited series with Reece Witherspoon and Kerry Washington set in the latter half of 1997 (with some flash backs to the 70's and 80's). Have to say it had me gripped until the end and when I thought I knew how things were going to play out it wasn't until the last 15 minutes of the final episode when it all became clear. Executively produced by both Washington and Witherspoon its very well directed and written. The mid series episode dragged a little for me (maybe I wasn't in the mood to watch, possibly). IMDB has this down as 7.7/10, I'd give it 8/10.

This is a very thought provoking look at how large and positive an impact Covid has had on the Natural World. Will nature ever get a chance like this again? Or will humans learn anything from the past year or so and make changes to how we can live more in harmony with Nature. Or will we go back to business as usual??
It's beautifully filmed as most of his documentaries are.

Great wrap up to the show, only thing that was a little too convenient was Job - getting the cash and then framing someone else. Also the phone interrogation had me rolling my eyes. *mashed the keyboard for 5 seconds* and then proclaims, "I'm in".
I'm enjoying Marcella, but yes, her character is just annoying to me, which makes it a little difficult...

I'd seen an article headline about there being a 32 minute interview scene, in advance of the episode. I thought it a little odd that most of it was her saying 'no comment'
Mind you, I also thought it was the last ep, so glad when they said there's one more to go
Two older series which are available on iPlayer. I am not a fan of the Beeb but the boxsets section is pretty good!
Battlestar Galactica. I have been meaning to watch for ages and remember seeing the Bluray set going for really cheap; never picked it up as wanted to try before buying. Its not what I expected at all, its rather good.
Spiral - French police series which has drawn me in. Usually shown on BBC4 but I wanted to watch from the beginning. Braquo is another series that I have heard good things if you like gritty police drama's with subtitles. Thought I would start with Spiral.

Can't recommend Braquo enough, basically the French version of The Shield but slightly more grounded. It's great throughout.

I have what I think is a really good recommendation: Avatar - The Last Airbender.
It’s animated and in an ‘anime’ style. Concept is on paper a fairly simple ‘chosen one’ story, a child friendly one at that. It has the ‘excitement’ of something like Dragonball Z with the charm of a studio Ghibli film.
Really, it is astonishingly good. Wholesome, some feels, some depth, lots of moral stuff and actually very, very funny too. Surprisingly funny? There was a piece of nonsense dialogue about the location of a room in a castle that was so unashamedly absurd and irrelevant it’s had me giggling for days.
Just a really well balanced, good time show. Haven’t got too far into it but from what I’ve seen so far, a really solid light and family friendly watch.

I do need to give that another go, I watched the first episode and found it very 'kiddy' but apparently it gets better. I'm not generally an anime fan but I do make an exception for the really great ones and that is meant to be one of the best.
