Evening.

looking for software that in a nutshell will let me send the details of the day’s jobs to staff (description, address etc.) and track location so I can advise customers if necessary.

at the moment it’s excel, WhatsApp and vehicle tracking but I’d love to know how say British Gas do things.

Example:

employee checks app on phone and can see details of today’s jobs
Click link which starts navigation
Arrives at site and checks job description
Either or manually or auto update to office that employee has arrived
Employee enters how long they expect to be on site
Manual or auto acknowledgment of employee leaving site

ideally this ties into invoicing etc

what sort of options are there out there?

thanks

My last 3 jobs all have used an Android App to send the jobs, click to accept and close them down all in one app. Also have GPS tags and location so we can be tracked on route for customer ETAs.

The problem is they have all be written in house by developers so are tailored very specific to the needs of the company. This is how I imagine most large organisations operate.

Sorry I couldn't recommend any.

I'm not sure about the power companies themselves, but the company that do a lot of meter reading for the power companies use a bespoke back end system that delivers work to dedicated hand helds so I'm not sure if that's the model you want to follow.

What sort of scale are we talking here?

Thanks. Small, 30 staff out in teams of around 4. Just need something a bit more streamlined.

Was just using British gas etc as an example.

You could also use the delivery model as an example.
