Hello all - I'm looking for some advice on a new gaming rig. I don't really want to spend more than £1200. The only thing I would like to have as an essential is a 3060 GPU. Otherwise, I'm open-minded to anything system you can suggest. Ideally, I would like a system already built. Thank you very much in advanced :)

Thanks for the link mate. I'm strongly debating biting the bullet on this. But i have a question re: the cpu.. Would the gpu benefit more from an i7 upgrade on this? Or even - would an amd ryzen alternative be worth considering over the i5? Thanks for the help :)

The 10400 performs about the same as a ryzen 5 3600 and is quite a good match for a 3060ti, you would gain a couple of extra fps with a newer ryzen 5000 or i7 k chip if you game at 1080p but the price increase for either of those options doesn't really make them cost effective.

I would see if OCUK can upgrade the PSU to a RM650w gold or something along those lines though.

Thanks very much, i'll make contact on Monday and do just that. Appreciate your help.

Could you report back in here with what they say? Tempted with this as well, how much of premium are you typically paying for ocuk to build these and presumably access to graphics cards ?

Might be worth asking them to stick a cheap £25 cooling on it aswell since it looks like they use the stock one from the picture.

The £1128 includes the build price so it's not to bad considering scalpers are charging almost that much for just the GPU.

The build fee is typically around 100 quid so when you factor in the rest of the components you would be getting the GPU for around £500

Note though that this PC doesn't come with Windows. Not saying that installing and getting it all ready would be difficult, but it's not a plug and play prebuilt.

I've included a different build which does have Windows and OCUK's choice 3rd party Anti-virus installed encase you'd prefer this.

Slightly hijacking this thread, sorry OP but would this not be an alternative as well? Extra RAM as well although it doesn't mention PSU or the cooler. Seems like you get a better quality motherboard?

I used to be all over this stuff back in 15 years ago:eek::(

I guess what I'm asking is for £1300 whats the recommendation, sorry again OP

Hey all - Just wanted to see if you could run your eyes past this... I was about to pay this afternoon for the rig - got quoted 1412 +shipping. Been trying to get through with no joy, so will try again on Monday. But thought i would take the opportunity to see what your thoughts were before i bit the bullet on Monday. Thank you :D
