Piggyback question, once you subscribe can you log with your current YT/Google account or do you have to create a virgin one and use that for this?

Grab a free VPN trial from somewhere like Surfshark, set the location to Indian, go into your YouTube account payment section and set up a subscription.
You'll also need to grab a random Indian address as well iirc, there's plenty of random address generators online.

You can use your current one and the VPN only needs to be on for sign up.
 
Another happy Indian VPN cheapskate here.

Sure, you can use workarounds, 3rd party apps, etc but I consider £1.20 a month for no Youtube ads across all my devices TV, mobile, tablets, PC without the need to install anything else excellent value.
 
How does the account work then? I have three kids who would use YouTube, so once you setup the Indian subscription what steps do you do in your household?

You can subscribe to Youtube family for about £1.80/ish, that's all you need to do while on VPN. Disconnect and setup the seperate profiles as you would if you had paid the normal UK cost.

Had mine a year or so and never have once needed to re-VPN for anything, just works as though I bought it here.

So your YouTube account isn't tied to your main Google account then? As in you can have a different YouTube billing address to your normal Google billing address even though it's still under google? :confused:

It is linked to your main Google account. It has been a while since I signed up through the VPN but all I can say is that now you would never know, everything works and syncs as it should with no issues at all. I’m afraid I can’t shed any more light on it but as I say once you have gone through the process everything is (or can be) returned to normal and you walk away with a shiny new subscription for tuppence.
