Sadly it's got worse with all the streaming services. Granted, only a decent system will show it up though.

Fortunately you can still buy CDs and records, and I never foolishly got rid of my collections. Spotify is handy for working, but you've still got plenty of high quality options these days.

Yup, I've got a load of CDs and my Vinyl collection is growing. Spotify is easy for casual listening but on decent gear a proper source makes a big difference.

I prefer physical medium, I like putting on a CD of Vinyl and listening to a whole album.

Yeah nothing beats having a physical collection. We just sat listening to music for an evening at the weekend, plucking albums off the shelves that we'd never have searched for on a streaming service. Every disc or record has a memory attached to it.

You can pry my music collection from my cold, dead hands :P

My cd's got relegated to the loft when we moved. My wife keeps threatening to clear them out :(

The 602.5's? I've had those for 20 yrs but blew one of the drivers at NYE a year ago :(

Yep they're the ones. I once had to replace a driver at the cost of £75 because my mum chipped a hole in the cone doing the hoovering (this was 20 years ago!), but other than that, no problems with them at all, fantastic speakers. I regret not having the use case for them anymore, but it is what it is!
iPhone 12 mini.
Didn't you have an iPhone 12 or Pro? How have you found the adjustment in terms of size? I'm still on an XS and determined to stick with it, but have coveted the Mini since it came out.

I had a regular 12 and find the mini a great device. So very very comfortable in the hand and a breeze to use for those short sharp phone interactions. Obviously if you're a heavy user that consumes a lot of media or does a lot of reading a bigger screen will be preferable, but for me I use my phone mostly when I'm away from my home. At home I have the iPad or my desktop.

Cool thanks. Reddit, bit of twitter, Google News, odd bit of sky sports football when I'm settling the kids, so sounds like it'd be fine for my use case. Thanks.

No idea really. I've got other things I want more but say if I could get a good setup for £5-600 Id be interested. Im sure a decent amp probably costs that on its own.

Not really sure where Id put a soundbar either as our tv is mounted quite low above the unit. Will check it out.

Ive got an old logitech z5500 5.1 system I used to use in my flat which was pretty great (in comparison to nothing), but cant be dealing with running cables for rear speakers etc.

I used to swear how good my old z5500 system was until i got a proper amp and 5.1 speakers and now realise just how horrible the z5500 was. its like night and day.

Soundbars are good for what they are, but there are designed with a load of compromises and tricks to make them work. They can't really compete with discrete speakers separated around a room that throws the sound at you from the correct directions.

After what feels like months of trying to find a decent laptop, and returning a few due to faults/issues, I think I've finally found a device that fits my needs.

This is one of Dell's latest 14" Inspiron models, latest Ryzen 7 5700U (8 core) processor, 512GB SSD, 8GB ram (upgradeable, which I intend to do at some point).

No idea on the nits/brightness of the screen and it's a dull day today, but it certainly seems serviceable. Standard 1080p resolution, so nothing fancy in that department.

Trackpad feels Apple levels of huge and the keyboard feels comfortable and precise.

Fingerprint reader and Wi-Fi 6 so somewhat future proofed.

Roughly £600 once my Amex offer and Quidco cashback has been paid, which to my mind makes for somewhat of a bargain.

There was a £100 cashback on Dell purchases that seemed to be going around that was card specific

All mine recently have been a bit rubbish.
