What ever happened to the forum deals?

Nice, so what about the poor people who are not scalpers and haven't got the required 1,000 post + and haven't been invited to MM, do they then have to carry your reduced prices in MM????
No system is perfect, their will NEVER be a system in place which is able to please everyone. It is unfortunate that some people will miss out or have to pay higher prices but at least OCUK are trying to do something to help actual gamers out.

A line has to be drawn somewhere, and in this instance it is having 1000 post count and being registered for a certain period.

They don't have any stock to sell. Any they do get are going into pre-builds.

I'm not surpised they haven't rushed to do it again after all the whiners throwing a strop about it last time. Some people simply hate to see anybody else have anything nice if they're not getting anything out of it. Plus all the cards that immediately flooded Ebay after both deals last time.

The tantrums from some were laughable. Also it was disgusting that MM members abused it and totally expected results when it went forum wide. Like you I'm not surprised it hasn't been brought back.

some people are just big babies

I did spot some tantrums from people who had been going on about how good there rtx30xx cards were in other threads

so why would you complain about something you dont need unless you plan to scalp out the rtx to cex or ebay

moaners like you got a chance at nicely priced cards in an unrestricted forum deal where far more cards were available than the MM forum deal.

Well thanks for calling me a moaner! I'm not highlighting this for myself, I'm fortunate enough to have a card, I was thinking about others, so am I moaning by proxy!?

Oh, and less of the 'moaners like you' stuff!!

nobody gets invited to the MM.....it's not some secret boys club.

I wouldn't know, as I haven't got over 1000 posts, I obviously assumed incorrectly, that's what happens. But at least I know now I don't need an invite, as and when I get there....do you just get it automatically then?

Yes, once you've reached the required posts/membership time and setup your trust details.

The issue with this lies in that '1000 posts and being here x time' does not make you a gamer. People actively using the company don't have to post and I think it's a real shame a forum-post-count is ever used as a reward system for any company that isn't literally based around their 'forum' (ie reddit). Imagine being here 10 years, spending many, many thousands of pounds at a company to be told you're not as valued as someone who spends nothing but posts drivel daily for the same year. 1 is making the company function/grow, the other is just costing them money.

To me, a better reward would be based on time and money-spent at the company, but unfortunately the vocal people have to be those that are on the forum, so they're the best people to keep happy, even if they don't buy much or help your company out.

I fully understand the 'line in the sand' and agree about how it works. However the comment initially was that the reduction cost should then be added to normal priced cards on the website, so scalpers pay extra and this covers the reduction for the cards available in MM.
In most cases people who are not scalpers, can only buy from what's available on the site for the price that cards are being sold for.

My comment wasn't about the system of being able to get a reduced price card, it was the comment regarding recouping the money.

Pretty sure this conversation has been had to death already.

So many people have great ideas on how these things should work but ultimately it comes back to man-power and how much time ocuk are willing to invest in giving us a great deal when they can just put all the cards live and make more money.

What I hate the most is the silence.

My brother sent me £700 to get him a card when they started the deal stuff, then they did that new forum section, said "This week or next week" and then 4 weeks pass and nothing.

It's just frustrating.
And given they're pimping out 8 Pack systems with 3090's it doesn't exactly leave a great taste ..

And by the same token just because you're a loyal customer doesn't mean you're not mining or won't scalp.

You've been here a while, didn't you see the posts about it? It was a test that was easy to implement (IT snowed under) because the mechanism (MM access) was already in place. It was then opened up to the whole forum but ultimately it was abused.

The suggestion of account based would still have a threshold, X amount spent over Y years for example. There'd be people below it, even just below who would kick off. "I've shopped here for 15 years but just not spent as much in the last Y years due to......".

It's impossible to please everyone.....

It might just come down to balancing the books. Gibbo is still upgrading back orders at considerable cost. Can they afford to sell say 100 cards at close to RRP making next to nothing?
