Afternoon all.
The kit for my mx5 turbo oil return had a clamp that was too small. As a result I've got a lovely oil stain on the driveway.

I don't want to damage the tarmac as the drive is relatively new. I've tried sand for 24h then swept up, fairy liquid then harshly hose off. Even tried Swarfega as I had it to hand.

Looking for recommendations for methods or products before I go to Screwfix to buy some degreaser :).

I got recommended cat litter when I spilled a load of oil, but that was when it was fresh, seems to have done a good job of soaking it up over a couple of 'rounds' (cleaning up the first batch and spreading a load more over the area), but then my concrete was far from pristine beforehand :D

As bitumen is distilled from oil itself your always up against it regarding oil leaks.

Fairy liquid is a good shout but that, like most treatments, will attack the bitumen and soften it up.
The wife wanted a tarmac drive but i wanted a block paved drive purely for the cleaning aspect of spills/leaks etc.

So I'm guessing you got a tarmac drive then.

Soak it up with something like cat litter first. Then fairy liquid. Boiling water. Nailbrush. Then leave more fairy liquid on it to soak overnight. Rinse and repeat. Literally.

Or spread oil on the whole driveway so you can't notice the small stain :)
