Best GPU pairing?

I have an i5-11400, and will be gaming on a 2560x1080 ultrawide.
What would be the ideal gpu to pair with these? I was thinking 3060ti or 3070.
Additional factor- I will possibly be getting a vr headset to play Elite Dangerous.
I am having trouble deciding and would like to be sure so I can concentrate on the right card next FE drop.

There won't be any 'concentrating', if you want an FE card you just have to go for whatever card you can get your hands on as they'll be sold out in seconds.

3060ti or 3070 FE from Nvidia is the best bang for the buck. Nothing comes close.

DLSS is a game changer and will become more so over the years to come.

^^Not personally no, I'd refresh both pages to increase the chances of getting a card. They might not drop at the same time so you could be missing out on an opportunity by only looking at one card.
If you must pick one then go with 3070.

Hadn't thought of the possibility of them dropping at different times, good point.
Whichever drops first it is then, with second as a backup.

So in theory only
