7 Seater Recommendations

Sure the sportline will be even better! Yeh it's the black magic option.

You'll love it, I had my doubts about 'stepping down' from an Audi to a Skoda but it has genuinely exceeded my expectations. Just a really nice car!

Hi mate, chucked you an email actually but your thoughts and things found with the car might be useful to me.

It arrived this morning so yet to even drive the thing due to work, however the whole 'Users' on the infotainment system is baffling me. I have setup one for the wife and chose her favourite radio pre-sets, I then login to my user account and have her radio pre-sets? I don't understand the point of user accounts on the system so far...I thought we could have our mobile phones set to each user and so on.

Bit late to this thread but yep I was gonna suggest the kodiaq haha.

I've ended up in the 2.0 4x4 SEL with a handfull of nice extras, towbar and sunroof were on my 100% list haha:)
Really enjoy it tbh seeing around 30mpg and that's with me driving it how I fancy haha

Nissan Elgrand or Alphard

I liked the look of these, til I found out they're pretty much 10-15mpg lol

The 5008 is better than the X Trail, it's got more space and is more reliable from what I've read but there isn't a lot between Nissan and Peugeot in that regard. Skoda ranks higher in reliability surveys but the other two cars are cheaper.
From the comparisons I've made, the Kodiaq is cheaper than the 5008 (when buying new at least, appreciating the Peugeot might depreciate quicker). The 5008 looks to be a good car but is surprisingly expensive, even the absolute basic model has a list price of over £30k (compared to the £25k it was back in 2017) and more like £35k for something worth having, so after discounts you're looking at low £30k. Kodiaq was a good few grand cheaper, although this may be in part because there is an imminent facelift coming meaning bigger discounts on the current model.

oh oh its the i have given up on life vehicle.

The space is awesome haha.

I went from a mazda 6mps to a Ford grand cmax as the boot wasn't big enough for all the buggies n junk.

Did a tip run in the cmax with a load. Of old fencing, 1 trip, know for a fact that'd have been about 6/8 trips in the mazda haha.

The space on it was cavernous.
Moved over to a Ford tourneo only to realise they were utter junk on juice depaite the 50+ mpg claims and the boots were tiny. They went back to Ford the clowns haha.

Moved over to this kodiaq and I think it's just what I was wanting an absolute cluster ***** of room as well as oodles of room it's awesome.

Also when covid restrictions get lighter it also means we can have days out with extended family and only need 1 car makes things so much easier.

My spec:
2.0 tsi 4x4 auto
Pearl Black magic
Virtual cockpit
Panoramic Sunroof
Electric folding Towbar
Heated windscreen/skooshers
Space saver
Isofix all round
19" Black triglav alloys
Drive mode select with off road option
Full led lights all round and rear reversing camera

The only options missing that I wanted was the electric child locks and the tables on the back of the front seats. Had I opted for these as well it'd have been about an 8 month wait, this was available within a week :D

I was initially looking at leasing but I got a decent discount and a decent dealer contribution so decided to just buy instead I honestly have no qualms in recommending a kodiaq to anyone that need a larger family vehicle. Pretty certain my next car will probably be in 3-5 years and will either be the leccy equivalent of the kodiaq or some kind of hybrid.

If we don't still need the additional space come this time then I reckon it'll be between a superb or a mazda 6.

Sorry pal, busy week only just getting chance to reply whilst United/Roma bore me to tears.

Not a profound response unfortunately. I’d not even noticed the users option until you mentioned it. Found this though which may be useful:

How are you finding it a few days in?

Sorry, mega slow response. Thanks for that link, I just deleted the profiles in the end and just stuck with mine. No real need for customisable options, the only thing we will ever change going into the car and that's the seating position!

900 miles on the car now, it's decent, going from a Hyundai Tucson you can tell the quality is much better, as is the drive. Nice having an auto again, wireless car play, the fuel economy is pretty poor, I've gone from an Insignia that got around 650 miles to a tank, Tucson around 530 and the Kodiaq just manages 400! Maybe some might think that is good mind! The boot/space is great, even with the back seats up which the kids are constantly in, there is sufficient space to take stuff for a day out!

Gone from 2 x Mondeos > Skoda Superb > Seat Tarraco > taking delivery of a Kodiaq mid-June.

Love the Tarraco, so hoping the Kodiaq will be the same or better.

One of our short listed 7 (+/-) seater was a V-Class. Outrageously epic in it's current format (E-Class interior), but no 4Matic version in the UK yet. Didn't find it overly expensive compared to other cars we looked at. Ended up with a Discovery 5 (coming from a D4) because a V-Class isn't horsey enough, apparently. Did also look at the XC90, but meh.
