Ordered TUF non-OC 9PM launch day (once the website had settled down :eek:), still 100+ in the queue, so a mid-Oct would be like 500+ at this point. :confused:

Which means you can't get in line for the 3080 TUF, at least not in the next 6 months, if ever (assuming the SKU is not cancelled for the Ti version) :rolleyes: Will presumably be the LHR varient you can't easily mine Eth to recover some of the £££ back with.

GN did a good video on the complete lack of meaningful improvement in the 20xx & 30xx series cards compared to the previous generations. Makes you think, who exacly is benefitting from all this hype? It's not us..

Yep, the price will be high. Just because there will be a new SKU will magically solve the silicone shortage. There is still a global backlog of demand for GPU's (mining crippled or not)

Well, if they were forecasting more accurately, they'd have booked fab capacity for the expected sales volume and there wouldn't be a shortage. After all, they'd been developing it for years, so just needed to book capacity during that timeline.

So, you wanted them to predict the COVID pandemic, the Crypto boom and the increased demand caused by people being at home rather than at work.

I'm not going to hold onto this like its scribed in your own blood, But as 6th in the Queue since what feels like day dot ( well the order was on day dot), you have atleast given out the slightest glimmer of hope for this SKU :D

Not at all - if they simply booked fab capacity for the predicted sales then even with the delays due to Covid there'd still be enought capacity on stream now to be supplyiing much more than we're seeing shipped. The previous Crypto boom didn't result in anything like this magnitude of shortfall, and while people were stuck at home, they were also likely to have been considering should I blow their rent/mortgage/toilet roll budget on a card.

Yes, shpiments would have been delayed and there wouldn't have been a card for every buyer, but you'd not have the situation were there isn't even a card for 100th of the buyers.

It's quite hard to get actual data on comparative numbers of 20 vs 30 series GPUs shipped, so I can't quantify the shortfall at the mo.
 
Well what an eventful day today has been I went from being very frustrated to being a very happy chap (yes I got my dispatch email )

Firstly I would like to apologise to @ScottiB and @Gibbo but hopefully you can understand the frustration after a 8 month wait and getting so close to suddenly get a typo chucked into the mix and then radio silence I just had to have a rant and I took a little bit of it out on this forum.

This whole experience has been a pain in the a$%e from the low stock to scalpers and then miners and COVID. But thankfully my wait is over and hopefully I’ll be testing my card out tomorrow night ( all being well).

good luck to all those left in the ques and hopefully your card will be with you soon.
 
I'm 500+ in the queue for my TUF none OC

Obv didn't expect there would be a shortage or such high demand or a pandemic when I preordered. Really wish I had ordered on launch day ..

was hoping I would get it by the summer as i want to play so many new games that my 1070 cant handle haha.

Don't really know what to do now if i I'm honest
