Hello guys I need a little help.

I was playing a game and all of a sudden I had a flicker of black and blue screened, my PC wouldn’t boot and wouldn’t display output, after resetting the CMOS, I got it to work for a few hours, but I had some more black flickering and my PC crashed and wouldn’t boot again.

However this time, resetting the CMOS didn’t work, and my EZ DEBUG LED was showing that it’s a GPU error. I left it for a day.

I came back the next day and retried clearing the CMOS and it booted, it worked for a few hours, but half my screen was severely flickering black, it froze for a second and I managed to take this photo right before it crashed (frozen) which what looks like to me artifacting.

After this happened, I decided to RMA the GPU to Overclockers, I got an email today saying that the test has been completed and have found no faults.

To me , I am shocked because I would have thought that this is 100% a GPU error but it seems like it isn’t, where do I go from here?

What else could possibly be the issue?

I will get my card back in a few days so after that I’ll be able to test other stuff but I need some advice for now.

Thanks

Try it with the GPU upon its return first see what happens ..

I would have made the exact same assumption, CPU overclockers in anyway ?

I wouldn't think it would be related to memory but might be worth exploring this I would also think it unlikely the PSU, perhaps as a long shot try different PSU cables make sure GPU running from two separate modular cables

I’ll definitely have to try this when I get it back, at this point anything is worth it

Good luck let us know, these types of issues are always a pain in the butt if the GPU is all okay , than I would think logically it might be a power draw issue if artifacting

Also when you get it and issue shows up try under clocking GPU etc see if it has the issue would be interesting if it only happens if the system is running at high load

Yeah different driver first and see how you get on :) revert it back etc if optional
When I get it back I’m going to clean out my entire computer, get the dust gone, re apply the CPU and thermal paste and reset the computer to factory settings just making sure everuthings plugged in correctly and clear

I had less severe issues than you, you can follow my journey here:

TLDR: Mine magically fixed itself after reaching the point of not even booting.

Possible suspects include
  • DisplayPort cable or port (try HDMI as well).
  • Dodgy RAM
  • Act of malevolent being unknown to this world
Give your OS drive a complete format and fresh install (don't use the reset Windows option, and wipe the drive)

Try undervolting too, you can shave 70-100w off the power draw easily:

Mine also magically fixed itself but it broke shortly after....

how would I format and fresh install it? Instead of doing reset windows

Just boot from your Windows USB Install and when you go through your install delete the Partitions on Drive 0 (or whatever your current C: drive is):

You can grab a copy from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Don't do this if you're not comfortable, it's not absolutely essential.
