*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Heyya Guys, anyone know what's going on with the MSI ventus? I've gone down like 2 positions in like 3 months, now at 11, I saw they were upgrading cards because of lack of availability on some cards, any chance of it happening for the ventus, they are barely moving
You have to remember that there's barely been ANY cards in some of those lines, so don't keep your hopes up.

Last time I had a queue update, I was in the low 20s.

Got my shipping email for the Strix OC on Friday, advising it would be delivered Monday. Did the Carlton dance immediately.

Saturday morning, message from DPD advising it would be delivered within the hour. Carlton dance intensified.

Got home from work Saturday evening, finished building first machine, nervously powered it on, and everything worked properly. Carlton dance now wearing through the carpet.

New carpets imminent! is it everything you thought it would be? have fun and enjoy that sense of closure!:):p

Crazy, did Nvidia offer any explanation or is it simply due to the recent semiconductor shortages being experienced in multiple markets at this time?

Random question but what monitor does everyone have I’m curious to know. I have a 4K 144hz from Asus rog. Since the 3080 stock is still looking bad atm, why don’t u guys consider downgrading to a 3070. That’s what my friend did who was waiting on a 3080 from OC. Also I would say if you don’t have a 4K 144hz or 1440p 240hz or some ultra wide monitor then I think a 3070 would be a better choice as there seems to be more in stock compared to the 3080. Tbh things aren’t improving so downgrading may seem like a wise option

I wouldn't say the 3070 is a better choice even at 1440p as many of the newer triple A games struggle to get above 100fps but then again a 3070 is still better than no card at all.

im assuming you mean with all settings maxed. Yeah I guess but you could always use dlss to boost FPS. I play apex legends at 4K max settings on my 3080 and get over 130fps. Call of duty warzone is about 100 FPS maxed settings but I normally use dlss to boost my FPS. I get around 140-170 FPS, but my point is a lot of people who have pre ordered a 3080 here probably only have a 1440p 144hz-165hz monitor which Imo would be better suited with a 3070. DLSS is great I use it all the time on my 3080. Image quality looks great whilst still getting high FPS. A 3080 would be better suited for a 4K 144hz, 1440p 240hz or an ultrawide monitor imo as it makes more sense for a 3080 which can reach high frame rates at 4K and 1440p. Mate of mine has a 3070 and a 1440p 165hz monitor which is a perfect setup

But yeah I think it would be a wise idea for all those with 1440p 144hz-165hz monitors to downgrade to a 3070, May be worthwhile. You will probably be in the queue forever at this rate

To put it simply, it's just a matter of miners and scalpers getting in there first where stock is concerned (at all levels, direct from the AiB downwards).

1440p is more popular because even the high end cards struggle at 4K, AC Valhalla gets around 90fps at 1440p, watchdogs legion and cyberpunk around 90 etc without RT so I certainly wouldn't want to drop down any further unless I really had to.

Brilliant commentary - that's made me chuckle  I'd have been requesting proof of existence photos from her at home as soon as it was delivered! :p

Enjoy.. What am I saying, he'll not be reading the forum for some time! :D

I wanted the 3080 for the extra RT power - BFV with ultra RT goodies turned on (at 120 FPS on 1440), and for some model rendering grunt too. 3070 is only a bit above the 2080 Ti so not quite there.
