*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I wanted the 3080 for the extra RT power - BFV with ultra RT goodies turned on (at 120 FPS on 1440), and for some model rendering grunt too. 3070 is only a bit above the 2080 Ti so not quite there.

yeah I guess you are right. I think the 3070 is still a good choice though but that depends on what GPU you have in your RIG currently. I myself just built a gaming pc for the first time with the 3080 so I didn’t have a GPU or PC beforehand. I tried ray tracing on fortnite at 4K was getting around 60fps which is not bad. Although I prefer to set it at 4K max settings with DLSS. The image does look better though with RT. I tend to not use RT on my 3080 in a lot of my games as you get really low FPS. I just use DLSS. I want to get Five Nights at Freddy’s security breach when it comes out as that game is supposed to have RT in it too

Would any1 here like to know wattage thresholds. Temps and clocks on strix oc when idle. Light gaming. Triple A gaming on 4k? And maybe fps. So you know what to expect?

After starting at 800+ position in the queue, we are getting 10 x 3080 TUF OCs! THIS WILL PUT ME AT POSITION 32 in the queue, HELL YEAH! ALMOST THERE!
Think I started something like 957 and I am down to 82, I am beginning to start to begin thinking about maybe getting a bit excited, I mean the 5's and 10's that are starting to trickle in is better than the weeks and weeks of nothing, but still at 20 cards a month it's till going to be September, which will be like a 12 month wait, spare a thought for those poor folk in Soviet Russia that had to save 20 years and then get on a 5 year waiting list for a Lada, lol

On a 2060 at the mo, so non-RT is fine for 120fps@1440 with some settings turned down. Won't go for 120@4K just yet, probably needs the 4000 series for that to be feasible. My OLED TV is only 60Hz, so might try some single player stuff on there.

Yeah you should get a monitor that’s 144hz or higher especially with a 3080. Most games I can reach 4K 120fps with the 3080 but some games I have to use dlss to get those higher frame rates but the image still looks great in 4K

Got a nice 32" 4K Dell 60Hz monitor for WFH, so used to the lovely pixel density & HDR now. Assuming I eventually get my hands on one, may well upgrade my 27" Predator to a 32" 4K or maybe a 48" OLED TV (going to need a bigger desk for that :p). All fantasy at the moment though!

I myself have a 27” 4K 144hz from asus, specifically the ROG STRIX XG27UQ and it’s amazing. Superb image whilst having a great frame rate. It was £800 and I bought it last year. Perfect for the 3080. However asus are releasing their new 32” 4K 144hz monitors with hdmi 2.1 which my monitor doesn’t have. I only have hdmi 2.0 but I use DP 1.4 anyway. Gigabyte are also releasing their aorus 32” 4K 144hz monitors with hdmi 2.1 as well so it may be worthwhile to look at them, although they are EXPENSIVE, I heard they’re going to be over £2000 most likely. The Acer one that you mentioned is nice and all but I’d go with asus or LG as they have 4K monitors already on the market costing around £800 a little better than Acer

Aye, had the 60hz 32 inch 4K Predator for a fair few years now, still a stunner and great with 3080. Where next though? .... and what would the Acer fetch in MM?

you just updated yourself.
None in months, none expected.

I mentioned months ago the card had been discontinued and was told that wasn't the case yet not a single one has been received since then...I mean I don't want to sound suspicious but not a single one has been received. Not one. Nada. Zilch. Zip.

Did anyone watch Jayz2Cents video he put out yesterday?

Watch from 1:15 to 2:00

1.5M people are in a queue in the US alone for certain lines of graphics card (I think it's obvious which card).

So guys and gals,
I was 9th in Que for the Zotac Trinity OC.
Got me email today the AMP Holo has been dispatched. So the wait is over for me.
Ordered it in Nov and was only 84 in Que.
I wasn't in a hurry and k ew it was gonna be after Christmas when I ordered it. Got to admit didn't think it would have been this bad.
BIG thanx to @ScottiB and @Gibbo .
For all the info you guys supplied.
Good luck to you all waiting.
