Asrock have a new Bios for th Asrock B450m pro4 Bios version 5.10 which updates AGESA to AMD AGESA ComboAM4v2 1.2.0.2 which is supposed to fix USB issues.

Has anyone tried this Bios version as it still gives the warning below and as I am using a Raven ridge cpu I am not sure if to try it but I am desperate to get rid of the USB issues when using front panel USB 3.0

*Caution!!! Please do NOT update this BIOS if 3300X CPU is being used on your system.
*ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if you are going to use Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU on your system.
*Before updating this BIOS, please also read the description in previous BIOS version.

I have a 3600X and updated to that BIOS the other day with no issues.

What's this USB 3.0 issue?

I have 3 2.5" drives taken from old laptops that connect and disconnect over and over again when plugged into the case USB 3.0 ports but are perfectly ok when plugged into rear of the motherboards USB 3.0 socket.

If your desperate to sort the usb issie then update the bios, you know the risks.

I know the risk thats why i am hesitating as i have no way to reflash if it goes wrong.

Contact Asrock see what they suggest.

So updated to the latest Bios 5.10 and no change all portable drives connect and then disconnect and the only way to cure that problem is to use a adapter cable from the case usb 3.0 cable to the usb 2.0 motherboard header.

I can only think what ever controls the motherboards usb 3.0 header is knackered but then again I just installed windows 10 thru usb 3.0 using a flash Drive and that dont disconnect and reconnect.
