A fantastic port this and all round very good performance.

At times, the visuals look very good but finding the lighting, reflections and shadows very meh a lot of the time especially in dark areas, could be down to having played metro enhanced before hand though.... :p :( That game has ruined other games for me now! Shame they didn't add RTX as this would have been a fantastic game to show it of, not to mention, the performance already being very good, the hit wouldn't have been too much especially if they added DLSS.

Played a bit of it last night, it looks really good and the game seems interesting as well. Started on survival but I think that may have been a mistake, I feel like without the UI it's too much swapping back and forth to the map screen (even using the senses). I do like the immersion of it though... decisions, decisions.

Downloading this now watched some YouTube videos and looking forward to giving it a try. Shame it’s using the uE4 engine and DX11 but guess you can’t have everything. FPS are quite low so hoping to be blown away with the visuals. :p

Hope the gameplay is as good as it looks having watched some footage, it looks quite immersive. I like the sound of the survival mode too @Poneros

85fps at 4k max on my 3090 is good to me but yes direct x 11 is absolutely rubbish and restricts performance. Direct x 12 is only a bit better, both should be dealt with and replaced by the chad API, Vulkun

Yeah seems to run fine just had a quick play on the intro and bike chase. Will put up a video later. :)

Dno tried it on the ps5 in 4k60 mode after they patched it since it was free…

Wasn’t impressed. Visually bland and also gameplay was a drag. Uninstalled after 30 mins or so.

Maybe put up that video in the thread over at the PC game forum as well ? Not many gonna see it here over in the Graphics Forum.

The game picks up speed and more interest after about 6-10 hours, depending on how fast you playing. 30 minutes you barely scratched the surface..

Yeah will do, will post it in both.

Just recorded 15 minutes of the intro where you get into the tunnel, uploading now will post it this afternoon. :)

Graphics are nice, but not breath-taking. Gameplay seems great though which is the main thing.

Gonna start on survival mode as i like a challenge. :)

Days Gone - 6900 XT Performance

Great game this is I put loads of hours into it on the PS4 pro so interested to see how better it looks and plays on my pc, still only running a 1080ti FTW3 card but should be an improvement ‍♂️

Very nice performance, goes to show them slides posted above can be very misleading.

How so? Matt overclocks the **** out of his gpu and cpu (look at his clock speeds holy **** lol), he leads various benchmarks and has had 3d mark top 10 results - reviewers don't do that, the average gamer doesn't do that, the average reviewer and gamer runs stock out of the box configurations, not overclocked to the tilt

And this benchmark matches the first

Bah, Bah lets prove me wrong by linking a video showing graphs. I'll take raw game play all day! And lets say Matt OC gives him 10 extra frames because that is basically it its still running better then what you picking out.

I'm really loving the DF in depth breakdown of visual settings, Alex is awesome at this and has a very sharp eye for it. It's really nice to see the developers have put in the effort to give PC users some better quality settings, and high end on the PC is still king by a decent margin. If you really want that premium high end experience it has to be something like a 3080 on a PC. I might pick this up.

The game doesn't even have a built in benchmark. How do you know Matt's gameplay isn't cherry picked to be favorable where as the reviewer may have used demanding scenario like when 500 zombies are chasing you, not just standing on a empty road

Or maybe he already has access to FSR since he works for AMD. :)
Anyway nice game and i too think the perf on the Big Navi is a little worse than what we see in that video.

Game is heavily GPU bound. CPU shouldn’t make much of any difference.

I saw that review but I do not see the issue he mentions.

They tested the intro bit where you drive on the bike at the start. Not sure which area TPU tested.

From what I have seen so far the FPS is higher when walking around and fighting zombies than when riding the bike so represents a worst case scenario.

My GPU is over clocked, but it’s 24/7 stable at these settings so it’s not on the edge so to speak. FPS are still way above what is seen in those benchmarks though so I’ll be running stock in this game like most others.

Recording live always eats up 3-4 FPS so an overclock helps regain the lost performance from recording. Plus RX6000 series has the power headroom for overclocking, it’s almost criminal to leave all this free performance on the table.

To bad the 6700Xt reference cooler doesn't allow for much then :p ;), had to undervolt and underclock mine to lower reported wattage to around the 160 mark to get the noise down to an acceptable level. Don't get me wrong though, I still like the hardware :). The card is performing very well and I personally have had no major driver issues.
