Don't buy a gaming PC pre-build from Dell'

My lad has an R7 Alienware. I kinda mirror the thoughts above but with it being a few years older now I have taken the opportunity to upgrade it over the years.
So now it has Corsair lpx memory, with XMP active, fans swapped for EK vardar. Gpu swapped for an off the shelf 1660 super and the power supply swapped.
Now I know that is pretty much everything replaced from original but it’s just bits I had left over from my own upgrades for either myself or my wife’s computers. Quite happy with it in all honesty as it runs quiet and it runs well. Got it on a Facebook marketplace deal for £450 prior to the shortages so even with the price of the upgrades factored in, it’s still a good deal.

Wasn't there a time Alienware was really good before Dell bought them?
Not really, they made cool looking overpriced machines that were ironically not as good as Dells competing XPS lineup. People (myself included) bought them for the bling factor and the bragging rights.

I remember back in 2001 to 2006 so many people classed Alienware as the Apple equivalent price and bling to PC.
