We are planning on converting our 2 bedroom house into a 3 bedroom. I have done a couple of rough fag pack designs. Of the overall layout and the layout of the stud walls. But was wondering if there is any free software out there that would let me design the stud walls.

What sort of design do you need?
38x63mm timber studs at 400 centres with staggered noggins. Insulation in between studs. Overlay with 12.5mm plasterboard with taped joints and skim finish.

It's really easy to do. Watch Tommy's Trade Secrets - How To Build a Stud Wall. You can just do it on the fly, like the guy in the video.

Guess I should have been clearer, i know the basic’s and more than capable of doing it. Was just wondering if there is anything out there that I could have a play with. Those Tommy trade secrets videos are very helpful watched a few of them over the years.

Just used Sketchup to redesign the garden, its more than capable of doing what the OP needs - take a layout, add some walls, drag them up to make a room, chop out a door etc.
I'd use the installable app, not the web driven thing they also offer.

Do the tutorials, then start slow, making basic shapes etc.

And you can get loads of prebuilt models as well. The pergolas, gazebo and palm tree for example were all free to use.

Thank you, shall give that a go.
