6700xt in stock at ocuk

doesnt matter how you do it, the outside will always find a way in, and i can bet money some of those with access are leaking, or buying a gpu to resell.
so even with the good intentions i fear it wont work unless either demand falls or aib's/distributors stop fleecing

So I had an idea. Basically when you buy a GPU, you pay a big premium. But then if you still have that card after X time period, you get a big rebate. Like a cashback deal if you can prove you still have the card, so people that just buy it to resell don't get the rebate.

This means OcUK gets more cash up front with an associated increase in liabilities. As a consumer you are rewarded for being a 'good honest citizen' and not reselling your card.

Of course, it would be just another admin headache, how do you prove someone still has the card, they can probably download a pic of a 3080 with Hovis on top from the internet.

This sounds extremely sustainable....

Require them to take a video of the card maybe? Getting a bit convoluted I guess. I like your idea though.
Yeah this is the problem, it would get too hard to administer, if volumes were high it would be a lot of effort to check up on. But the only way you can limit resellers is by heavily incentivising them to retain the cards for a year or whatever, so it would be like, OK you gotta pay £1500 for that 3070, but then you get £750 back if you can prove you still have it a year later (in a perfect world, maybe you get £250 back every 4 months or something). The numbers are just examples, OcUK would keep the funds in escrow and it gets drawn down on with claims, just like your mobile phone cashback where you send them your bill every 3 months.

would have thought simple as longevity and posts, even if it was 1000(which excludesmyself) and say 2yrs or other timescale, or 2 level section, those with longevity and those with set number of posts. just a thought
we'd decided how we want it to work but getting it to work is not as straight forward and reliable as we'd hoped.

they are a good card but ....... £799 good I dont know

but then I wouldnt have paid the price for the 3070's either

Still in stock.

Must admit I would have thought they would have all sold by now.

Sales are steady, the Sapphire will run out over the weekend by the look of it. The other cards are picking up, but as Andy said, and as I've stated before, when the scalping/mining bots aren't looking at the product we can sell them predictably. On the flip side, when we had the 3070 (similar gaming performance) online earlier this week at just north of £1000, we sold two hundred units in a matter of minutes...that's the power of the bots and unfortunately, they react a lot faster than our website can, so we oversell and end up with yet another back order queue to manage...

That's why we find ourselves in this really difficult situation.

Has £50 been whacked onto the build stock 3070s or have I made that up? Pretty sure Oxygen Gaming PC with 3070 was £1,810 last night in my basket and this morning it's now £1,860...

I mean it's still miles away from new stock 3070s...

Gibbo has held some older deliveries, he's been REALLY open about that on this forum. He does it because we generally get deliveries in quantities less than 10 at a time and if we were to list them online immediately the bots kick in faster than our website can react and we end up with hundreds of back orders. We've both explained this in detail many times on this forum.

When he put the 3070 Halo online yesterday he sold over 200 units in less than ten minutes, most of them in the first five minutes...that's not all end users I'm sure.

As for system stock, yes, I do the same, I build up a stockpile of a specific model and then launch a system which uses it. As new stock comes in the average stock price slowly climbs and I slowly increase the system price. There will be system integrators who still have stock from the start of the year who can now sell even cheaper than we can.

My average price on the 3070 Ventus for example has gone up by a little over £100 over the last month and every drop the get pushes it higher.

I think at £750-£800 is a little too much for me.

I built a new system in December but still using an old 1070 which is struggling a bit on 1440p/144

I also recycled my power supply but I would need to replace that getting a new GPU.

So thats £800 plus what, £150 for a decent power supply? That isnt much change out of a grand and thats a lot of money for not even top end card.

I stress, I am not having a go at OCUK for the pricing, just saying, as a customer right now, those prices are too high. Maybe if the card was £600/£650.

I mgith regret that going forward if available gets worse, we will see.

Overall I agree with you but it's still a lot better than the equivalent Nvidia.

Unfortunately, much of the price increases comes from the dog eat dog battle for VRAM and now that Nvidia and AMD (with their contract pricing) have stopped providing VRAM to their partners it has become even more cut-throat.

I do agree it is way too much, £750 retail for a 6700 XT is a joke, let alone £800 plus.

The fact is the card at £750 were barely breaking even on, the real sad thing is I don't think the AIB's are taking the mick with the pricing, the harsh facts are they are producing probably 1/10th of their normal volume, maybe 2/10th at best as such to stay in business they have to increase their profit margin to cover their overheads due to producing much smaller numbers.

The fact board partners are making 5700 XT's again says it all, they will make anything they can build at the moment to survive, NVIDIA partners have even started making 1030's with DDR4 because its all they have in the parts bin, but they are scrabbling to make anything they can to at least ship something and try to cover their overheads.

Thanks for being so open about the pricing and I know you have taken a hit on it. It was a big factor in me finally deciding to snap up one of the higher spec cards listed. I thought if I'm going to spend that much on a card, it might as well be one with a factory overclock and RGB fans! :) It's been a long frustrating time and I still "need" another card for my daughter's build but at least she can get by on my 1060 for a bit.

Still in stock.

Shows you the Nvidia pull, unless 3060's are better at mining???¿???

But people will pay 200% over the odds for those, whilst these in my opinion are a better deal, yet still in stock.
