Always had a fair experiences with main dealers (BMW, Merc, Nissan, Ford) in the past, both buying and with service departments but found a dud with Audi Leicester!

Brought my A7 from Audi Wakefield last June which were great, even with all the Covid crap going on.

Living Leicester abit far to travel each time for warranty/service work but the few times had to use Sytner Audi Leicester there customer service/service department are awful. Warranty work REALLY had to push when an issue with my MIB2+ MMI (which is still on going!)

Had it's first MOT done there last week (I have Audi MOT warranty cover)

Advisory for 2 new fronts which i expected but then "immediate attention notice" that one of the rear coil spring mounts has split which they want £376.22.

They said it wasn't too bad but would need looking at in the future, MOT passed.

It was only after I thought about it that my car is actually still in warranty until early next month so surely this is a warranty fix.

Spent the last 3 days trying to get someone within the service department get back me, nothing!! Amazed the poor level of service this place has for a main Audi dealer. Left a couple messages with there "front desk" for the service advisor who i dealt with last week to get back to me, always seems to be either not at her desk or on the phone?!

Maybe I have been lucky in the past with warranty/service work.....even when I have had BMW's with there extended warranty fearing the worst when I went into them with issues service was great and never any issues getting them to fix even under extended warranty.

Audi Harrogate is the same. As a company we have bought probably more than 20 high end Audis from them over the last 10+ years but in the last 2 or 3 years their service is appalling. They dont return calls, are awful at fixing anything under warranty.

Standards have definitely slipped.

Similar story with Jaguar Hatfield. I just wanted a basic service. Never once managed to get through to the service manager; ended up booking it in Jaguar Derby and fitting it in around work.

TBH most main dealers are not great they are good at charging max £££ & having some nice looking dolly bird on their reception (sometimes!) but that is about it! Go elsewhere or DIY!!

I've found most of the VW group like that these days - getting hold of the person you need difficult (unless it is finalising a sale), promised call backs almost never materialise, etc. etc. which is why I've gravitated towards Nissan lately as at least the two nearest Nissan dealers to me if they say they are going to call you back they do.

Why would you need to speak to the service manager to book your car in for a basic service?

Sorry, I meant service...receptionist? Either way, service was aweful and I couldn't get through to any of them.

Exeter Nissan by any chance? I look after both Exeter and Wellington and they have always had a good reputation for customer service. 2 of my favourite main dealerships that I’ve had to work in.

The wife has a Nissan qashqai (yes I know awful bit she likes it) Brought from an online broker new.

Needed some warranty work done, though it would be bad and hard work with it being "Nissan" so called Nissan Leicester, very helpful and super service.

When it had its first service at Leicester Nissan last year again surprised how helpful and nice they was.

Mainly a BMW man before my A7....Audi (apart from the dealer I brought the car from and let's face it that's the time they are normally good service) not impressed. Might just be a bad main dealer in Leicester

I think it depends on the individual dealership. Audi Slough I have not had a good experience with (despite the 5* service they wouldn't stop talking about when selling to me) and they're under the Sytner group, BMW High Wycombe also under Sytner were always great with me and the BMWs were company cars that were not sourced from them.

Audi Cheltenham is awful as well. Tried to sell me a car which had the entire passengers side sprayed a different shade of white. When I opened the door, the handle fell off.

When I asked if it had any bodyshop work done, they said no LOL

Top marks for the OP who has named and shamed. Not many people have the confidence to do so.

Two other dealerships I'd never use again:

Peugeot Birmingham
Lincoln Honda

Audi dealership in Eastbourne have always been second to none when it came to any servicing, warranty or sales. Can't fault them at all and I definitely feel like I get the VIP treatment.

********* at Leicester Audi finally got back to me after much hassling and calls.

They said the rear coil mount isn't covered under warranty as its not mechanical?! Never heard so much BS in my life.

Service due next week do booked that into Audi Derby, hope they have better service!

I found Sytner Leicester and Specialist Cars Luton both very helpful when I had some warranty work and a service, respectively. I live in NW London and only booked it in at Luton as I was workign there at the time but I think I'd rather use them than my local dealership who weren't that helpful and had an aura of snobbishness which I found irritating, almost like you are a 3 series pleb.

Nearest two are Dorchester and Wincanton/Yeovil (FJ Chalke), have used Exeter a couple of times but not for personal stuff. So far been good people to deal with customer service wise though the work on the vehicle feels perfunctory but is done to a standard - feels a bit like a double-edged sword they do at least work to a standard but feels like they have no motivation to go beyond the standard once they hit it so to speak.

In comparison I've had work done at VW dealers, indies, etc. and afterwards found things like for example panels only attached by 1-2 out of 4 screws where someone has obvious gone **** it job done, etc.

West London Audi can get in the bin. Bought a used approved 2018 TT RS back in March, and the very moment they had my money they couldn't give a ****. I have had to use the complaints system and go via the management team to get anywhere with them. If anyone can suggest another Audi main stealer in the West London/Surrey area I'm all ears.

Before this I had a Golf R, and Twickenham VW were great.
