Not only that but the announcement seemed quite short in comparison to other GPU launches, at least from what I recall. Usually you’d get a lot more detail from them (I vaguely remember the 3070/80/90 launches involving longer keynotes), but it just kind of felt like the announcement was purposely rushed for me. You got the bare minimum of information from them to make an informed purchase decision (which was ‘if you have a 2080 Ti, you’re getting a 50% jump in performance’), and the chat on Twitch was also very much like “that was it?”. It feels like Nvidia are confirming more and more that they’re more interested in their B2B and corporate parts of the business rather than gamers…
Computex probably isn’t the place to discuss supply shortages, but I agree: at least something should have been said around ramping up production across the board. I’m getting tantalisingly close to getting my 3080 since ordering in early October, and I don’t want to jump ship just in case this announcement, by some miracle, is a sign of ramping up production. I’m not holding my breath, though…
