*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

To people who've managed to snag a 3080/any other in-demand GPU, how did you manage to pay for it instantly?

This is probably a n00b question, but I only ask because everytime I try to make a high value payment on my card, my bank (Natwest) always blocks it, locks my card and makes me go through counter-fraud security to reactivate it. Will paying through PayPal stop this issue? If not, does anyone know how I can get around it?

Thanks

You need a better bank. This is not NORMAL behaviour. You're not alone but it's not typical.
Paypal is unlikely to help since it's still coming from the same bank.

Talk to your bank, see if there's anything that they can do. Alternatively, use the switch service and get a better bank.

Holy ****... MY WATCH HAS ENDED. I am finally receiving my TUF 3080 OC... It's been a journey of checking the forums/updates multiple times a day, for more than 6 months... I can finally delete the bookmark and enjoy the SPEEED. Hope you get yours too soon guys, patience is a virtue! You GOT THIS!~ <3
Hi where were you in the q? have fun and enjoy.

Hi just a quick question in relation to those who still have open orders for the 3080 series.

For those who are high up in the que will Overclockers provide the option to upgrade to a 3080ti to clear the backorders? I am 16th for the Asus 3080 tuf none oc and if I had the option to upgrade my order to a 3080ti I would pay the difference.

probably not, they would lose out on profit as well, plus I think either scottib or gibbo said something about it being tedious to do, to change the queues and move people over to the 3080 Ti would be a hard task. They already lost quite a bit of profit from 3080 upgrades like upgrading a lot of customers from the gaming x trio to the suprim for free. I doubt they’ll upgrade, considering the stock situation atm.

Same here, if OCUK could somehow find a way to let people who have been in the queue for months switch orders, that would be an okay result.
Some sort of self service thing, so that OCUK staff don't have to manually update thousands of orders?

I don't think they'll be able to get that done in 2 days tho like

Maybe they could tell customer service or something that if someone has a 3080 on back order they can update it to a 3080ti maybe like an hour before they go out for everyone, would stop bots getting it

no, we don't want to risk "queue jumping" backlash and we don't want to risk meltdown of the phone lines. Therefore there will be no 3080Ti sold via the phones, instead we are looking at the possibility of selling them via voucher codes.

Would the vouchers be random or to those in queues? Would be good cos it gives the choice if you want a card but if you don't want LHR you don't have too

Never mind you answered
It wouldn't make a dent in the overall problem, we are talking about tens of units of stock vs thousands of back orders. If even a small number of customers called up to ask to upgrade we'd still cause the phones and webnotes to go into meltdown again.

Dude, please, stop it. I'm not here to chat through every idea you have. There's still a lot to be decided! AIBs usually wait for Nvidia's announcement before sending out information so, to be frank, we're still waiting for a LOT of information.
Also, who says that aftermarket 3080Ti's won't be LHR?

They are LHR, I think

This may be jumping the shark but will this be the case for the 3070Ti, too?

We don't have finalised costings yet.
MSRP's are announced but currently our landed cost are above the MSRP's even on the cheapest AIB cards, as such we are now having ongoing discussions with AIB's on what the plan is to make some cards potentially available at MSRP. Once we pass that hurdle we will then look at how much stock we can expect to get, numbers are pretty limited at present but as its mega early days we can't really predict on how good or bad supply will be in coming weeks. As such by the end of this month, or July we would hope to be in a position to have some options available like 3080 back orders can switch to a 3070Ti for no cost / small cost and anyone wishing to upgrade to a 3080Ti can do so but pay the difference which of course will be a minimum of £400 and more depending on the card in question.

But this is just me thinking in my head, the whole company is looking at possible solutions but until we have proper volumes in our warehouse there is nothing much we can do right now or this week or even next week it will take time to get the fuller picture on how supply will be and which way the prices will go as the AIB's just kept increasing 3080 prices almost weekly, we are hoping the 3080Ti will have more stable pricing and much better supply but lets see.

Those waiting have been extremely patient and we thank you for that, we also apologise for the wait too though its out of our control, but hopefully now for some a little more patience and hopefully results will come, OcUK has upgraded 100's if not 1000+ 3080 orders now to different models and have kept shipping 3080 back orders at huge losses. :)
