That age old theory

Once i have a child, my life is over, no more video games!!

Yet the majority of people i play with all have kids and appear to play more than me!!

do fathers/mothers have more time to play video games now that they have a kid?

What has been your experience?

Hell no, if you are you're not parenting. You just have kids who exist in the same house as you. before you know it they will have grown up and want to do their own thing, you can go back to serious gaming then.
Well a lot of parents will have kids who are in bed by 7-8 then have a lot of down time which they potentially cant leave the house as the kid(s) are in bed. I can see a lot of people with smaller kids playing a lot on a night, there are of course there are parents who will just throw a tablet at their kids to let them play warzone all day too.

Once you become a relatively successful parent, one of the skills you develop is time management.
This also means you tend to ignore games with long loading or lobby waiting times... and that you gauge Star Citizen development milestones by how old your kid is.

This is one of the reasons I mainly play on Stadia now. I never have to worry about wasting 20 minutes downloading a failed update. It works and works on any screen I'm able to use.

YOu say that but our sc org owner has kids and he plays from 8/9pm 3-4 times a week

It can be done if you manage your time well. There's no question that some parents will be neglecting their kids with time spent on games though. However, that's the same with binge-watching TV or scrolling through social media for hours.

Video games aren't the issue, just self-discipline.

If I knew what SC Org specifically referred to that might have more meaning, but as is I can only point out that I said people tend to ignore such games. There will obviously be outliers, just as there are those who don't play any online games due to bad lag over slow internet.

organisation/clan .

Basically as many have said here, if you manage your time well, you can still game with a kid.

I meant which game... specifically one that does or does not have long waiting/loading times.

It depends what stage the kid is at.
Around 2yrs, once they are sleeping through the night, you can get in 5-6hrs every night easily enough.

I avoid online games all together, I used to play them daily. Now it's games which can easily be left to just sit on a screen, games like Civ, Football Manager. With these types of games I can be ready to do things in an instant. I do play a lot of Chess mind but the games only last like 10 minutes and only require one hand on the mouse.

I think thats why i like football games.

you pretty much launcgh the game, select your team and play a match that lasts 10-15mins eitehr against the AI or another player online.

Being in my thirties with 3 kids under 8 id say in one way you game more, as you no longer want/can spend your evenings in bars on the hunt. That is however offset by the requirement to accumulate "credit" with the wife which can be "spent" . I.e. tonight ill watch some nonsense on tv with her, have a curry, catch up after a busy week. That will give me roughly on gold credit which i could spend tomorrow night playing from 8 till x in the evening

Gaming sessions pre bedtime on any day is not really possible to be honest, even when the youngest are napping im doing chores or catching up on work, study, diy

Lots, lots lots less. I do enjoy the odd Mario Kart race with my 9 year old but I'm an insufferable winner :p

I remember sneaking out of bed to play BF2 into the wee hours...
