This thread is like at the end of that old gameshow"bullseye" where the guy says "look at what you could have won".

Draws more power (almost 100W) than the RX 6800 whilst being slower across all resolutions according to HUB.
Never mind that, it has lost about 20% perf/watt compared to the RTX3070 normal so even compared to Nvidia's own cards it is poor. Only about 5% faster than the plain version too.

Would love to see no one buy them, i mean what was the point on this and the other Ti cards.

If my card broke today i do not think i would bother with my pc at all, no stock of anything remotely decent.

Probably because all the fully enabled GA106 and GA104 based GPUs,appeared in laptop SKUs first. This means the RTX3070TI is probably using a very poor and overvolted bin:

It can't be all down to the use of GDDR6X,as the RTX3080 uses far more of it,and a much wider memory controller.

I will just use my GTX960 if what I have goes kaput. The best GPU I can find in stock under £350 is a GTX1650 - a GPU slower than an RX570. You can get an XBox Series S for £250 which is faster.

So both the 3080ti and 3070ti are fractionally faster than the non ti...wtf was the point? At least 3080ti got a vram bump. 3070ti got a new cooler instead.

There is no point as far as end users are concerned.

From NVidia's point of view they are trying to squeeze everything they can out of the cards to try and stay ahead of the Big Navi cards.

Biggest rip off is the 3080 Ti has an added cost of 2gb of extra VRAM compared to the 3080, for this end users have to pay an extra £400.

£400 for 2 GB of memory

NVidia are having a laugh.

A bit sad to say the least, the 3080ti is a massive cash grab after they seen what people were willing to pay online. Its worth maybe £150 more tops realistically.

The point is for Nvidia to increase their prices so that retail & distribution doesn't get all the benefits of higher prices. They never had real volume for the fake MSRP they set for the initial GPUs, specially since they carefully sold many to miners first rather than flood the gamer market.

I agree here, but this card was supposed to settle the GPU market, but as usual no stock !

One retailer ended up sticking them in expensive pre builds with crap parts :(
