I think its a great idea what is trying to be done, also great to get OcUK staff interacting, surely that's what you are looking to do, build a better company profile by actively looking out for genuine customers.

These things will never please everyone, I only found out about this forum due to calling up, i'm not one to get involved in forums and have to say 1000 posts is not something I think i'll hit.

Maybe you could not just look at public vs private but maybe also interacting directly with you here to obtain a code? Just a suggestion and now i'm a member i'm sure illbe on the forum when possible :)

Yes this was the solution we had hoped for and was put into action, both myself, IT and the moderator team spent a week working hard but in the end there was some kind of code issue that required a lot more IT involvement and right now they don't have the time to commit to sorting that due to working on the new systems ScottiB has eluded to many times on the forum.

But we did and hoped to do exactly as per the above with a new forum sub section in graphics focusing on voucher deals for members who had been joined 1 or more years with 50+ plus post, unfortunately we can't make it happen right now. :(

Hopefully with several major updates coming in the future then this might become possible.
Fingers crossed, this would be great.
Not needed for me, but the vision oc would have been great for the all white build my daughter wants to put together.

Is it not possible to ask people to register interest in the card they want against an email and delivery address and then limit them to a qty of 1? I play guitar and there are pedals that are on 3yrs+ waiting lists and this is how they allocate them. it seems to work quite well and would stop any automated bots.

I am sick of these scalpers though. surely there should be a technology or system that can detect and stop them by now or is it that the vendors actually don't care as long as they are getting paid? It happens with everything now, from trainers to concert tickets to GPU's.

Weird. The forum runs on XenForo, which specifically has the ability to assign user groups for all manner of things, including post count and "registered for x days".

Well this sucks for people like me who have bought tonnes of stuff from OC over the years, yet because I don't socialise on here much there's no chance of getting anywhere. It sucks because I am in a position to get something purchased (6700 / 3070 realm) and not so keen on spending 800quid on it... So, again, looks like no chance for people like me... I would be buying today for a new build but hey ho

no because we'd end up with thousands of people coming out of the woodwork and we don't have the manpower to crosscheck and verify every address against order history and suspected bot addresses.

How much are these 3070's going for? Anyone feel free to message me a code as I'm halfway to saying sod it on this new build now... Was hoping to get something sorted this weekend as want to sell my gaming laptop (eBay 80% off fees) to finance this build but looking a bit stuck right now on that one

I believe it does, but the Admin team and IT were not able to offer me a subforum due a technical difficulty, it could be down to the fact that the IT staff who implemented the platform have now left the company.
