I really loved PC building but haven't done it for almost 10 years. I want to get back into building a PC again. I really like the price point and performance of 3070 TI so want to get some ideas on the build around it e.g. motherboard, processor, RAM, SSD etc. I have not a fixed budget but could I get some suggestion for 1.5k up to 2.2k budget? Or if I'm way off on budget what else would you suggest?

Cheers,
Riz

Any particular reason why you suggest the Ryzen 7? I thought It wasn't really worth it for gaming?
I heard that too. Isn't 5600x better for gaming?
Also zen3 benefits from 3600mhz ram, 4x8 instead of 2x16gb would also give better performance when in dual rank according to HU.

Yes it's going to be mainly for gaming as I have a work laptop for work and have no other big uses (don't use it too much for streaming but I'm assuming this would be good for streaming too)

Nothing specific just a good gaming PC. I love Cities Skylines and Sims 4 so as long as it can handle games along the same line, I'd be happy.

There's so many motherboard options out there and I can't really tell the difference between them, is there a way to be able to compare them?
I haven't found an easy way to do it. I think you have to narrow down in stages. B or Z/X. Wifi or no. Front panel USB C. Then you may only have 2 or three you are between and you can go more in depth for vrm etc.

Yes that would handle streaming and gaming at the same time with a solid 8 core cpu like the 5800x.

If you purchase the above you would need a temporary gpu till you managed to get a 3070 ti.

Motherboard choice do you have any specific needs same with case choice.

No I like the choices above. Seems reasonable compromise in price and power. Ah could I switch it with an integrated graphics CPU. I know I can get a used GPU. There is another thread recommending which ones to get. Thanks for that

Ths 5700g looks like the best choice but your going to need a bit of luck trying to get one on release.

thanks all for the help. Have got what I need. This is what I went for:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
MSI-MPG-B550-GAMING-EDGE
GOLDEN FIELD A-RGB PC Case Mid-Tower
Corsair CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB
Corsair RM750, RM Series, 80 Plus Gold Certified, 750 W Fully Modular
WD Blue SN550 1TB High-Performance M.2 Pcie NVMe SSD

Total was around £650
