Same price, 6700xt or 3070Ti?

Looking to upgrade from a 5700xt, and seen both of these for around the same price. Which would be the better buy? I play at 1080p 21:9 and the upgrade will cost me around £100. I know they're both quite overkill for this Res, but I like to crank the settings up where possible

I've mainly been an AMD fan but nowadays just really want the better perf/£.

Somebody said earlier that 5700xt to 6700xt was about +18%.

For roughly double the price you paid for the 5700xt.

Your money, of course.

I only paid £300 for it way back before the shortages, and it's just about to sell for a little over double. The upgrade as a whole will only be ~£100 so I thought I'd make the most of it now while I can.

The 3070ti would give you more fps. I have a 6700xt and like it, Btw I also have some coil whine and I figure that the 6700xts are clocked higher which leads to coil whine, actually tested 3 6700xts all the same coil whine.

If they are the same price 3070ti, if it was hypothetical rrp 6700 xt £420 vs £550 3070ti it would depend on what you wanted to spend but you cant get them for those prices

Fair enough! I forget that the 2nd hand market is also completely off its trolley :p Maybe I should do the same with my Vega..

easy choice tbh, for raw out and out fps the ti wins, but for longevity i would take the 6700xt giving up a few fps

I don't have any direct experience of the 3070ti vs the 6700XT, but for the 3070 vs the 6700XT (MSI vs Sapphire), the AMD runs *much* cooler and quieter. It depends on your priorities - I'd give up a few fps for a cooler, quieter system.

And in my comparison, with Trixx Boost, it becomes an even more interesting equation :-)

so a little update:
i ended up going for a 6700xt for 2 reasons

1. after a few tests, fps wasn't really a problem, so the extra 4gb vram was more attractive
2. the biggest reason, i sold my 5700xt for £650, and found an msi gaming 6700xt for the same price, free upgrade!

3070ti then again I'm a nvidia fan boy! I used to love ATI cards, but I feel there software let's them down and the amount of artifacts I used to get just out me off ever buying another ATI card!

I'm guessing you play at 2560 x 1080 21:9. I imagine that you get +40 fps in the games you play. I hope that you have a freesync monitor (with a frequency range 1.5* the lowest frequency) [if not look into your options]. Will your monitor play nice with Nvidia? I have an acer XR3414 and google gives mixed answers. My last 4 cards have been AMD. if I was however to buy a card tomorrow pricing being equal I would go NVIDIA (and possibly then have to get a new monitor). Since I would want the ray tracing performance (which is better balance to rasterization on the Nvidia cards). if I didn't care about raytracing I would stick buy which ever was the cheapest.
