Hi. So I've got an OCTO and D5 Next pump that both have a cable to plug into the motherboard headers. But the headers have 2 rows 1 with 5 pins like the cable and 1 row with 4 pins.

Do I plug them into the same header or do I have to use 2 different headers? If so Which row: the one with 4 or 5 pins?

You can use one header, do the plugs have a indicator for the vcc pin ( power usually red ) cause you need to connect them the right way round.

layout below
vcc usb1- usb1+ ground 5th pin
vcc usb0- usb0+ ground no pin

So they do actually colour coordinate I can see what way to put them in but why is there a missing pin, will that still work?

The missing pin is to ensure that the case front panel USB connector is always inserted the correct way round. The standard connector has two USB ports in one connector/cable.
You have two individual connectors/cables. As per the aquacomputer manual, the 5th connector is an optional ground connector - so it doesn't matter if it goes to the "missing" pin.
It'll work OK, just make sure you've got both the right way around.

ok nice one, thanks

@kenny saunders I have literally just done this on my build, and the manual extract you show looks like it is for a Gigabyte mobo? Just as the others advise, you insert the two black plugs one above the other but with the red wires on the right side.
