@{SAS}TB Where is the kitchen from? We're in the early stages of an extension and are looking at options. Looks really similar to the style we want!
Not purchased by me as it's a gift, but it was purchased for our kitchen.

Need an unbiased opinion on how this would compare with my Nespresso for espresso, latte etc. Not going to ask in the coffee thread as I don't have time to measure the dimensions of every ground![]()
the logical best step up if you want the convenience whilst step up in quality (the beans that you choose).
It’s an appliance rather than a hobby.
So this plus quality beans for a better coffee with relatively little effort?
Pretty much, the saying goes, rubbish in, rubbish out.
Espresso pods you are putting in, what essentially, squash or concentrated, as opposed to fresh oranges in order to make orange juice. If that make sense. By going straight to whole (not pre-gound, whole beans), you are getting the best quality to begin with. Now there is a separate conversation as to what is good beans but if you start with that, say off the shelve - Union Coffee, will get you a better cup.
The Sage will do the rest.
There is however some basic maintenance to think about, like washing the water tank, descale if you live in hard water area etc.

https://www.brabantia.com/uk/bo-tou...-buckets-2-x-30-litres-mineral-concrete-grey/where could one acquire this 'Bin thing' ?
Cheers.
I know what I'm getting with the Nespresso. I'm happy to spend time looking for the right beans, but certainly don't have the patience to mess with much else past that point, and if with a decent bean I'll get a better cup without too much faff with the Sage I'd be happy with that. I'd probably have a double shot drink when heading to work and one or two single shot drinks through the day when working from home so the cost of pods (Nespresso Virtuo) does mount up when working from home.
