EVGA teases an AMD "Dark" board

Oh god yes please.

I LOVE EVGA hardware, the customer service and warranty is second to none.

Yeah, basically this.

Their hardware is usually top end without being shouty about it/over-marketed (yes ROG I'm looking at you) and you simply cannot find better aftersales atm. For anyone with a thought about eventual sale/upgrades etc.... you really should have a look at EVGA kit. Proper 2nd user warranties etc.

Thanks for posting Dan.

Quick summary:

EVGA are working on 2 boards for AMD. Launch apparently in Q3 2021. One will be 2 dimm with ram slots above the CPU and then a more traditional 4 dimm board.
Boards are in pre production and basically look exactly the same as the Z590 boards.
Kingpin has been overclocking cpu samples on the boards for about a month.
Kingpin has reached 6Ghz on the 5950x and 5.8-5.9 Ghz on the 5900x.
Lots of time spent on making the BIOS as good as it can be.

The enthusiast-class motherboard featuring AMD AM4 socket has been shown by Vince Lucido “Kingpin”. The motherboard has a 270 degree rotated socket paired with two memory slots (1 DIMM per channel), an optimal configuration for extreme overclocking.

The X570S Dark features angled power connectors and onboard buttons for power and reset. A POST code display is also present. EVGA’s premium motherboard offers two PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 slots and a single M.2 NVMe slot attached to PCIe Gen4 interface as well.

While Vince only mentioned the X570 chipset, EVGA’s Product Manager, Jacob Freeman confirmed this board is actually based on the updated X570S chipset implying that the board is passively cooled.

EVGA has not provided detailed specifications, launch date, or price yet.

It has 1 nvme slot........

Well at least now we have 3 x570 boards with 4 slot spacing for people that want 3090 dual setups with the NVLINK.

Only this board, msi x570 godlike (now EOL) and the new ASUS X570S VIII Extreme have the correct 4 slot space for the official 3090 nvidia bridge, so allows people to use air coolers unless they buy the 3 slot or 2 slot bridges for the A-series cards that are silly prices and then you would need to water cool the cards.

Just not too sure about the ram slots and only 2 and 1 NVME slot is a bit of a joke too. Also the second x16 slot is a bit low for some cases when using a 3 slot sized 3090 unless there is more room under and no shelf that hides for example a psu, depends again on the case used but at least another with the correct 4 slot spacing for 3090 NVLINK setups.
