Reasonable time from quote visit to getting a quote?

I've had a plumber and electrician visit to give me a quote on some works. What's a reasonable amount of time from their visit to receiving the quote?

Don't expect them to jump through hoops for a tiny job. They'll need to find a compatible job for the other half of their day to make it work. My local guy I leave it entirely up to him as to when he can get around to it for that reason...
 
Iv recently had a few gas engineers out and builders out for some estimates. Most of them I got a reply within 5 working days what is fine with me. It the guys that say, “I will have a quote, for you within a week” and still haven’t heard anything 2 weeks later that annoy me.
 
I've had

Plunber quote then me ask multiple times then wait 3 to 4 weeks to get quote (as he happened to be free that Wednesday and wanted me to say "OK" to £2k of various work)

2*Builders taken at least 2 weeks (in fairness a big job)

I pestered a Window salesman at least 10times over approx 2 months to return a quote to me after waiting to receive it

Everyone is mega busy and they're not great at admin!
 
We lived in Kent all the trades seem to drive around in big new SUVs. They turned up to view a job in 24 hours or said they were too busy. Quotes came through super quick. In Wales 50% won’t turn up to view job after you’ve agreed a time, 50% that do won’t send a quote and even if you agree a quote and date probably 25% chance they’ll decide they don’t want the job after all. Too relaxed by far
 
South East here and I was really surprised by the time it takes them. Never next day. Usually after 3 or 4. In some cases I waited over 2 weeks. I simply cannot understand how traders and the likes find this kind of timeline acceptable for potential customers.
 
Anything more than 5 days and they're not interested or not organised enough I wouldn't want to give them the job unless they are a friend that you know are going to give you a good price.

In last year had shutters, windows, garage doors and some landscaping. All quote back within 4 days and most within 24 hours. Landscaper was the longest, but friend of a friend so didn't mind waiting an extra day.
 
I’ve had three separate builders over to view a large job (£50k budget) and not one has come back to me. After the third chase with each I’ve just given up.

I even tried to get a quote for a small part of the job, the guy came over two weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything…

On the other hand, I’ve had a plumber and gas engineer turn around work in 24 hours so…
