1usmus Unveils Project Hydra

PRO version seems like money gouging.

PRO version also comes with support, I doubt it is of any use. It 1usmus paying a team of people to provide support, or does support mean occasional twitter posts?

I guess the pro version is turn to earn a little bit of coin for all the free software he has provided us over the last few years.

Honestly I don't know why AMD haven't offered him a job to build these kind of software as standard.

Official software like this and the dram calc would really set them apart from Intel.

why pay someone who is already doing the work for free?

There is a lot to be said in favour of that statement.
There is also a lot to be said for AMD paying him to do it as well. Because AM4 is sensitive to mem speeds in particular, AMD has a lot to thank 1usmus for. I'm fairly shure that if Dram Calculator had not of existed, the take up of Ryzen would have been much lower than it is now.
When Ryzen was first released, ram performance was dreadful. On his own, 1usmus managed to change that performance around and developed the software that has lead to the performance we all enjoy now. As i've said, without 1usmus, i'm not convinced Ryzen would be where it is now without him.

I don't mind if he has a pro version, he does a lot of good work with Ryzen and deserves to be paid for it by offering something a little extra for those willing to stick their hand in their pocket, a lot of people will go pro on his software just to send a bit of money his way for the work, that's great :)

I seriously doubt that the majority of the ryzen userbase has used dram calculator let alone even heard of it. Even among enthusiasts its not always used.
Office machines, laptops etc nop they wont wo going near dram calculator or other 1usmus tools.
So overall probably 5% or less of the ryzen userbase has used 1usmus tools.
