Anyone able to recommend a Powerline kit and 6 additional WiFi enabled plugs?

I’ve been looking at the TP-Link TL-WPA8631P kit but can’t for the life of me match the 6 needed WiFi enabled plugs to go with it.

You’d think they’d show the the additional plugs in the other items that may interest you sections but all they ever show are other branded parts from other manufacturers!

It would be great if there was a seamless transition between AP’s but I understand that I may also have to replace the Router too to enable this.

It’s a very old big country house with stone walls so happy to throw as many “extenders” at it as needed.

However, if I’m doing it wrong and a mesh network is more suitable, please point me in the right direction instead. Don’t have a massive budget but would rather buy something that worked well rather than just about works. :)

Unable to run Ethernet cables anywhere though aside from plug sockets due to the walls and it being a listed building.

Steer clear of power line, it will just cause pain.

Get the access points cabled in.

If you need say 6 access points, buy an 8 port Poe switch, then connect the access points to this switch.

Run a cable to each address point from the switch, they can be up to 100 metres in length (each)

Use cat5e solid core cable.

Disable WiFi on your router and set the APs with the same ssid etc.

Look at unifi access points.

Top advice.

Power line is a decent solution if cabling is a problem....but with caveats. Buy it from somewhere like Amazon where you can return it easily if it doesn't work.

Some appliances might dump all over the signal, for instance.

I’d certainly run cables if I was able to but alas. :(

It’s finding a suitable kit with matching parts that’s causing me the issue at present.

Can't help on the access points, but I will lurk.

I have 3 Aztech 500mb power line adapters that are about 10 years old. Works fine for streaming 4k, although I've not speed tested them. I still have WiFi blackspots though.

I'm wavering between spending a few quid on some TPlink power line adapters, or going the whole cabling + POE AP route. Mainly depends if I can be arsed or not.

If wireless extenders are a better option I’m happy to buy 6-7 of them if needed, just need to be pointed in the right direction as the choices are pretty overwhelming TBH.

Well I opted for 6 x TP-Link Deco X60’s in the end. They turn up tomorrow so fingers crossed that they can cover the entire house.

If anyone is interested the 6 x Deco X60’s work superbly and I now have coverage inside and outside my new home.

Not bad considering it’s about a 1000 years old and made of stone.

An expensive means to an end at £750 but finally no more WiFi woes.
