check to see if it has an odb port, you may be able to download the error code to zero in on the actual fault, a bluetooth obd reader is like 10quid on amazon and is good for reading and clearing errors on your phone (torque for android as an example)

+1 for doing this, at least you'll know what error is being reported.

I'd also stick in a bottle of redex too.

Thanks for your effort. I was amazed that I couldn't find any reference to it in the manual or on the web. These days if I come across something I haven't seen before, 5 seconds on Google is all it usually takes.

Not one reference site to warning lights had this image, I think it took me about 2 hours to narrow it down and that I had almost given up, as like you say it normally doesn't take long. But I am a patient man and don't like to be beat lol.
