Hi Guys

I bought a 3090 aorus from ocuk the other day also a Phanteks Glacier G30 WaterBlock with back plate i have fitted it to my computer and with Hwinfo64 its showing my Vram temps are around 104c and 70 on the GPU While gaming with Flight Sim and BF5. I have noticed once its getting above 100c on the v ram its droping on the core clock by 100mhz. Its not overclocked at all.

To give you idea i can go on a empty map on bf5 have it runing in game and i can not move from the same position and the vram is at 104c the gpu chip is at 70c its drops from 1860 to around 1750. As a test i used a table fan directly on the gpu what reduced the temps on the vram to 96c but the core clock went back to 1860 and stayed there till i turned the fan off? You can also see this on the Graph on MSI Afterburner

Anyone got any advice ? i have 2 rads 7 fans full watercooling running at I9 9900k at 5ghz. its clearly a vram issue surely and whats best to get temps down ?

70C GPU core seems a bit hot too under a water loop, what rads and whats the hotspot temps for the GPU?

You sure you got good contact with the waterblock though if its memory on the backplate side thats hitting those temps not sure what you can do?

3 things come to mind

You did something wrong

Pump speed too low/poor flow

Cpu Block is full of crud.

Need more info really

Size of rads

Number of fans

Pump/res type and make

Tubing type

Pics if possible.

To put your build in context, During the heatwave the highest my loop temp got to was 35 degrees and the highest i've ever seen my 3080 is about 44 degrees core and mid 50 on the vram. SOMETHING IS WRONG.

it does sound like something is not right in your loop. maybe your fans are not going fast enough. maybe you have both rads exhausting with no intake (seems popular these days).
