I went camping in Dorset last week and the 4G/Data reception on my phone was awful (iphone6S/giffgaff) We were on holiday though and the kids loved playing in the field etc so it was all good, but I'm interested if there's an option for a mobile hotspot so I could take my work with me if I needed to...

I'm talking emails, zoom etc downloading the odd video file and streaming for the kids say...

I've seen things like TP-Link M7350 4G LTE Mobile Wi-Fi Router for £75, is there anything better than that for similar money? I could probably run to more for 5G and better reception if it was worth it?

Anyone have any experience with anything like this??

Being outside is the best signal you can get with my understanding of 4G. So by standing outside with your phone is a good indicator or strength/speeds.

If it was bad, and you put the SIM into a router it would not be much better. Your tactic would be best by having multiple networks to try out first, as each location will vary with each vendor.

I agree - head down to your local supermarket and grab a handful of the freebie/cheap PAYG SIMs and see what works for you, in your location. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and get Vodafone, O2 or EE. Sometimes 3 is just excellent. You can’t tell unless you test it sadly.
