Just picked up a used copy of Horizon from eBay off the back of this 60fps patch.

Never played it before, heard good things. It's time to jump in.

Okay so apparently it's free with PS Now, which I don't have/want.

Few months ago, I've nabbed it even though I completed it when it came out but wanted to give it a second go before number 2 comes out.

Yeah I definitely missed that, no idea why, must've slipped my mind as I vaguely recall it now.

Still, this used version didn't break the bank! Looking forward to getting it.

Not PS Now but PS Plus had like 20 games, it was under like Best of PS4 Collection or something with a lot of great games like God of War. Guess it finished this month as it was there when i got my PS5 back in July.

Nah that collection is still there, Horizon isn't part of it, never was.

Just gave HZD a quick go. Nice upgrade! Performance was a bit ropey on the base PS4.

Just got my second ps5 and this one is just as loud as the first. Fire up a game and the fan is really noticeable…

I'm a little thrown with the HZD 60fps patch. There was significant discussion around how it would be difficult / impossible to apply to the PS4 version due to the way the Decima engine, animation and other elements were setup and geared specifically for a 30fps experience.

Yet; one 300Mb patch later ...

I'm not complaining!

That's exactly where I went wrong! Falling down in to the r/wrongthunk/hive/donk/dunk/pond/PS5.

The hive mind are saying the same about Bloodborne, that it can't be made into a 60fps game.

I hope they're wrong about that too.

Horizon is built on a 30Hz engine that already taps out the CPU almost entirely - unlocking the frame-rate would not have worked for this title.

A bit ambiguous as it only refers to the PS4 Pro hardware.
