3000 Super series incoming?

So let me get this straight they release a 3090 Super as was already pointed out with maybe 5% performance increase for more cash ,even though the 3090 is already over priced for performance gain over a 3080.
So what the heck will be performance increase of the 4000 series card when it is released!

We'll just have to wait and see if the card is ever released as Nvidia do test the water with leaks to see if they can mug some more cash out of us.

They are saying next gen 4000/7000 cards will be double the performance of the existing - a generational leap like pascal was as they move down to 5nm chips. Given that they are a little over 12 months away its probably not worth getting current cards at this point in the cycle.

That said prices will probably be ridiculous again and impossible to get hold of

They may arrive a little earlier .... https://wccftech.com/nvidia-next-ge...ll-use-tsmcs-5nm-process-instead-of-samsungs/

Genuinely surprised. Thought the VRAM was rated @ 21Gbps, but Nvidia underclocked it due to high temps.

As mine runs pretty cool anyway I’ve always had it OC’d to 21Gbps. Could push it further TBH but opted for longevity instead.

My GPU/VRAM OC’s are at stock PL and auto fan too, +125/+750.

As you say, you didn’t win the silicon lottery unfortunately, but pretty sure mine’s fairly average.

Someone on OCN was able to go from +1200 mhz to +1700 mhz by dropping memory temp by 20C. But he was on a custom loop. I'm air cooled.

The only people that believe you will see double the performance next generation gpus look like this :-

and expect this to come out of their computer :-

Then when the next gen is out these same people will be screaming :-

and then reality will strike them and end up with the same 20-30% gains if lucky and again another price increase and of course shortages again :-

Don't forget Nvidia managed to get 40% or so out of what is a poor Samsung 8nm so it depends on what Nvidia decide to go with since TSMC 5nm would be quite a big jump for Nvidia compared to the current Samsung 8nm so we could be looking at gains of around 70% while if AMD can release a 160CU MCM card on 5nm that should also be quite a large bump over the 80CU 6900XT on 7nm+.

I am thinking now just to hold on to my 1080ti for a further year. I'm not playing games much and the current card still does an admirable job.
