According to MLID Sony is preparing to launch a PS5 Pro in 2023 that will feature a new APU with a Zen4 CPU and RDNA3 GPU.

He goes onto to say the Pro is there to deliver on Sony's promise of 8k gaming this generation- the Pro will offer a premium 4k experience and 8k gaming

MLID also says that Microsoft is planning to launch a refreshed Series S in 2022 and expects that they will develop something to fight the PS5 Pro as well

Rather than 8K gaming I'd rather get 4k/60 with full ray tracing on.
Also by 2023 you may actually be able to get hold of a PS5 easily

I really don't see that happening, the only reason they released the Pro and the X was the need for 4k support. I really don't see 8k T.Vs having any significant market penetration in 2-3 years...

Personally - don't believe it. We'll wait and see.
I mean - the article starts with "The following titles may or may not be present at the forthcoming Sony showcase" - yup, well done, it'll be one or the other.
In fact, the article is nothing more than a wish list for a console we really don't need.

8k gaming is just a tick box as there are no mass consumer 8k tv's available for less than £1000. Doubt there will be in 2 years either.

People said something similar when 4k tv's came out, there was barely any available for a decent price. Diffrence now is the chip shortage, so even if they're targetting 2023-2024, we wont get one till 2025 anyway and by then they'll have 12k :)

I doubt it mainstream use of 4k TV is still 1080p content. 4k content is still severely lacking especially when a lot of people still watch SD. We would only get 8K TV's if manufacturers can make them same price as 4k TV's. So this would affect 8k gaming too. No 8k TV's no 8k gaming. Talking about mass produced sets not £2000+ sets.

8k Monitors may appear but then you need a GPU to drive it. Whether the PS5 can who knows.

I don't see it 8k tv no where near being main stream, he'll even though 4k TV are everywhere majority run 1080p

I can see a series s revision, but mostly because it's too gimped on the storage front

Lots of people bought a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X just for 1080P because they ran better, I'd expect this to be the same. 8K is just an excuse to release an updated model and milk some more money.

sony wants to sell 8k TVs is it any surprise they try to make content to sell their TVs?
