What a race! We missed it live but glad we opted to watch the whole thing rather than highlights. Max was certainly lucky with the rain, gifted him some huge points.

100 F1 Grand Prix wins. I severely doubt anyone will match Hamilton’s records in my lifetime.

I said that same thing about Schumacher's championships back in the day!

Given Clog Boy has 17 wins at the age of 23 I think if RB get the 2022 car right he could over take 100 in his career but Hamilton still has more wins to come.

Probably not, but Verstappen has 17 wins. At the same age Hamilton had 11.

Granted Verstappen probably won't ever have a car as dominant as the Mercedes has been over the last 7 years, but it's hardly inconceivable.

Such a heart breaking moment for Norris. McLaren had the knowledge and should have been insistent. It’s mostly on them.

No penalty for Stroll for pushing Vettel into the wall?

Despite how dangerous that incident was, stewards don't normally investigate team mate clashes iirc.

Conclusive proof once again that Bernie's proposal years ago was genius, we need preset artificial rain at all circuits to keep the punters happy, because acts of god are needed to spice up modern day F1 and make spectators think they saw a good race!

Really enjoyable race, action all the way through the race with nearly all drivers involved.

Absolutely gutted for Norris, he was hoping to stay out and just coast around the last few laps but I think the rain came down a lot harder than he expected it to, it could have paid off if the rain hadn't have been as bad, alas it didn't. He deserved the win, superb drive all the way through the weekend. It's just something he can take as experience and move on from. Thankfully he didn't put the car into the wall.

Just caught up.

Great recovery from Max.
Exemplary drive from Lewis and fair play listening to the team.
Great drive by alonso, proving he still has it.

Lewis in interviews almost sounds like he wants to be back at Mclaren. Does he know something we don't know for next season? Are mclaren going to be the next dominating force?

Heartbreak for Norris but I feel his team should have been more firm / more on the ball. A bit of inexperience on his part and so close to the win I totally understand why he chanced it.

Lessons to be learned but wow what a driver he is shaping up to be and if McLaren are this competitive next season, I can see them challenging for many more victories. He said at Monza his time will come. I thought it was going to be today but it didn't work out. Nevertheless he is performing brilliantly and it's great to see McLaren in the mix fighting for podiums.

Great drive by Max and RBR. Got a bit of a break towards the end and capitalised on the chance.

Lewis showing his world class ability again and the Mercedes team showing their effectiveness. Must be tough to have Max on the 2nd step but must be tougher to have Bottas languishing so far down the grid. He seems to be doing what he can to help RBR!

Was a refreshing race for this track.

I guess no one really knows right now, the cars are so different next year, heck if Max doesn't win it this year he might be stuck with a lemon car for the next couple at RBR, while McLaren run away with the title(s).

I just get the impression he wants to be back there though :D

I think he's just being nice to Lando after swiping his first win through no fault of his own. Everything's up for grabs next year, and it looks like Mercedes have started early on next year's car, so I wouldn't count them out on being dominant again. It's just a question of whether the other teams like McLaren, Ferrari and RBR can catch up to the standard that a Mercedes factory team can set.

Just got told off for waking my partner up shouting at the TV watching the highlights.

Gutted for Lando but it was nice to see an entertaining race in Russia for a change.

You get the feeling RBR have gone all in on this season and decided to worry about next years car, next year. Where Merc have not developed this years car much by normal standards and are hoping that comes to fruition next season

Indeed and it will sting them;
McLaren/Ferrari concentrated so hard in 2008 as they were battling the championships meant they were woeful in 2009

A very entertaining last 10 laps and a Hamilton win :-) I have to wonder if and when Hamilton has to take a grid penalty for a new power unit, that he will have as much luck as Verstappen did towards the end of the race. That could really flip the drivers championship again. It seemed Bottas and Verstappen where the biggest place gainers due to the rain.
