Bad feelings?

I don't think anyones got any problems with germans anymore it was 70+ years ago, the older generation who lived through the war were different and they had good reason to to but they've mostly passed now. No, its the French we really can't stand!

With my dad being in the RAF during the cold war we we're regularly stationed in Germany and during my teenage years was at JHQ (Rheindahlen), it was over populated so we had to live in a little town on the outskirts of Monchengladbach called Rheydt and we used to meet with loads of the local German lads, they were great and I much preferred hanging about with those than the UK\US kids from the base.

It's where I developed my love of Currywurst, Warsteiner and Deibels Alt.

As someone mentioned previously it's the Brits abroad that really get my goat, all with the "I can do what the **** I want as I'm on my Holidays" attitude and total contempt for anything that isn't British, the amount who go into restaurants and kick off because the don't do Sunday lunch etc. is mind boggling, if you want to eat British food stay in ******* Britain then!!!!

Personally I love Germany and really look forward to going over on trips because everyone I meet is friendly and welcoming

I wonder if they have spaghetti ice cream still? That's weirdly one of the things I remember from a school trip in the late 80s. All seemed decent lads from everyone I met. Hardcore into Metallica though which at the time I didn't really 'get'.

Easy with the disdain for the French Davy, I have a lot of respect for you, and I prefer it to stay that way.
I once asked one of my elderly cousins in Lens why he thought that the English put the French down.
He shrugged and said, “L’envie mange l’âme”, (Envy eats the soul).

Love ‘em or loathe ‘em, that is one powerful song, had I been an 18 y.o. German hearing that,
I would probably have rushed to the nearest recruiting office.
I find equally powerful in that video the old man who doesn't want to get involved. He's seen it before and knows where it will lead. He knows bad times are coming. Then the cabaret man, dressed like a joker, grins at the end like the devil has done his work.

You must have “Cabaret” downloaded, like me, great movie.
