Random question time, we have a desktop system that is secured away, but needs to remain switched on 24/7 with keyboard, mouse attached.

We want to put the keyboard in a lockable case during the night - in the morning, you unlock the case and you can access the keyboard.

Therefore the keyboard can't be accessed during the silent hours and we will know if someone has, because they will have had to smash the case/lock.

We can't turn off the system, we can't change any programs, we can't remove the keyboard - it is a keyboard case we are looking for.

Is there such a thing?

They don't have to smash it. With a little knowledge (or access to YouTube) and some basic tools, a good number of office locks can be picked or bypassed in seconds.
Would it not be better to focus on a system that, rather than just 'someone', will let you know exactly who messed with it?

A keyboard lock is just an additional layer.

Get Abloy lock.
That's whole lot harder to open without key.

It's not a case you're after but a tray or drawer.

Keyboard and sometimes mouse also drawer for rack: https://www.amazon.com/1U-Rackmount-2-Post-Keyboard-Tray/dp/B00BF7Q3Y4

Laptop drawer with lock to fit under a desk: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Price-Square-BPSCA-EX-6201B-Black/dp/B01MG8UHI3

Well maybe you still want a case but the above are standard ways to lock up keyboard shaped devices.

Yes, i did look at those (2nd link) but wasn't sure a keyboard would fit, there's also the issue of getting them fitted.

I will be putting forward the cctv box and the under tray - that's a couple of options anyway!

Thanks for looking.

With a disc detainer pick, LPL picked several different Abloy locks in under three minutes, IIRC... my favourite is the chap who does it with a pencil, though.
However, I also have things like padlock shims, which take about five seconds. Bypassing locks is where the main concern usually is.

I still say it's all useless unless you can find out who is messing with things.
