Hu Guys,

Can anyone recommend a set of the above please?

just looking to get a decent wired connection on the other side of the house and think that these would be better than pulling all the boards up..


Just needed for one outlet, and needs to be a wired output on the other end.

I use Devolo Magic powerline connectors with wifi extenders on them, For me they have been working great for over 2 years. I have 1 upstairs in the loft room and 1 in the front room that I connect the TV to for Netflix etc. Mine are old tech and only wifi 4 iirc but I get 100mb/s from the wifi signal it kicks out and I have the TV connected via ethernet. The tv is flaky as hell and does drop signal from it so also connected via the Devolo wifi. I have had to reset the powerlines once in 2 years, was just a case of turning off the main box and the 2 extenders and then turning them back on again.

Look for some cheap deals on these over Black Friday. I will be looking for a wifi6 or 6E set to potentially replace mine at some point but I am in no rush. I am sure the other brands like tplink also work decently as well.

I personally would never consider a mesh system.
 
For the OP's use case (single cable replacement), Powerline potentially makes more sense than a mesh system. It will depend on how well Powerline adapters work with the OP's wiring, no way to know that without trying.

Wireless/Mesh could be the perfect solution. Again, no way of knowing without some knowledge of the building's structure and layout.

To answer the OP's previous question, I'd treat AV1200 as the baseline.

As it hasn't previously been mentioned, you can run network cables externally. If you already have some of the tools, it could be cheaper than Powerline or wireless and is pretty much guaranteed to provide a fast and reliable connection
 
As long as you keep within the permitted distances, copper or fibre are going to work as designed (ignoring user error).

With zero information about the location, how well Powerline or wireless will work can only be complete guesswork.
 
I've got a pair i've been meaning to move on, TP Link ones with passthrough power sockets on. They didn't work reliably over a longer period in my house (60's with various additions to the wiring, across two floors) but when they worked the connection was decent.
