Selling my RTX 3080 and upgrading to 6900XT for Forza 5????

So what do you guys recon is it worth selling on my Rtx 3080 and grabbing a 6900xt?

The only game I play loads of was Forza 4 and now Forza 5. My monitor is 1440p @ 240hz so always hungry for them extra FPS and the new Forza 5 is quite demanding. Do you think it would give me a nice bump in performance to be worth doing???

I did, only because CEX gave me stupid money for my FE, got about a 30% increase in perf with a total cost of under £1000 for a nitro+

Edit: to be clear, RT doesn't bother me so wasn't a factor.

In just Forza or across the board? I thought they are supposed to perform similary in rasterisation.

6900XT is better across the board than a 3080FE I've found on 3440x1440p, the card also draws less power to hit the fps I aim for when not testing raw fps output.

in none real world synthetic benching it's much better.

I think its game dependant, Forza usually favours AMD though not sure if the new iteration does. Still really impressive for a 30% gain over a 3090!

How does performance compare when taking into account DLSS?

haha , just checked CEX and they're giving over £1200 cash for a 3080FE.

makes the upgrade to a 6900XT almost free now

Going back to how it was when the shortage crisis first started, its good if you have one, free upgrades lol.

If prices go up at CEX I'll send my 3080Ti to them but the LHR will hinder value. Bloody good on Forza 5 though hitting over 80fps constant at 4k max.

I can't imagine a 3080 to 6900XT would be noticeable in the game unless you have FPS counter on.

My 6900xt is cooler and faster than the 3080FE I had. Only thing to consider is RT. Just depends whether you are bothered about the extra eye candy.
Resident Evil Village with full settings inc ray tracing and FSR I think I was getting around 80fps. Cyberpunk was another matter but I just turned off RT.

Wouldn't be free for me as it's an Asus tuff 3080 oc just looked they're not going for as much £830... Blimey if they were offering me FE edition prices I would rip their arm off and have my 6900xt on order already lol

Interesting. I k ew the Amd cards were supposed to be faster in forza 4, so assumed it would be the same situation on forza 5.

I get about 90-120fps at 3440x1440 with my 5800 and 6900XT with every setting maxxed out.

What do you get with everything turned to as high as it will go in the benchmark test?
When you have time could you possibly test it at 1440p for me please. Would rather see numbers from a real person.

If you can a profit on the change then go ahead. However, if you have to spend money to make the change, then no, it's not worth it for one game. I doubt you would notice the difference in game unless you were looking at an FPS counter.
