How much do Miners make from mining a 3080 full HR?

wow, thats a decent app

so apparently if eutherium is 4k a coin it will shoot up to £8000 by early next year, do you think that is true?

Also i think the GPU issues we are having is caused by miners all around the world, soley miners, there this guy who work for Qatar airways, he is a pilot and he lives in a bills paid apartment, he has 120 cards in his place, literally all space is taken by his mining rigs.

Just going to pull out my crystal ball and check  No one knows if its going to double again in the next years otherwise we would all be buying as much as we could imo.... it could double/triple etc or the arse could drop out of it and you lose everything . dealing with crypto is basically gambling / risk taking with very good reward if you time it right or it could just as well go the other way if you get into it at a high price and it goes downwards again which is what it regularly does .

i feel sorry for people on variable or people looking for new tariffs. I was lucky to renew before the electricity prices shot up so mine is fixed till 2023 at 16p kwh

I'm deliberately going onto the standard tariff once my current fix ends this month. It's £400 cheaper (predicted) than the fixed and then I've got the ofgem price cap to act as a net.

The cap is only per unit, not overall price - the big misconception. But yes go to standard variable right now

oh I'm aware it on a per unit basis, but my usage isn't really changing (I'm not currently mining anymore) so I shouldn't see a spike that's out of the blue (too much)

Right now, from one 3080 I have averaged £8.44 a day mining income from 10 months of mining. This includes some major blunders such as using nicehash and selling my first 0.1eth (now worth £320) for 0.0037btc (worth £160). I've held everything I've mined.

Running the system uses 8.4 kwh a day. Cost of this has changed a lot over the year but it currently costing me £1.20 a day.

Just had a quote for energy valid for BN post code and todays date:

About your electricity tariff
Supplier
E.ONnext
Tariff name Next 2 Year v10
Tariff type 24-month fixed-term
Payment method Direct Debit
Unit rate 29.58p per kWh
Standing charge 35.09p per day

About your gas tariff
Supplier
E.ONnext
Tariff name Next 2 Year v10
Tariff type 24-month fixed-term
Payment method Direct Debit
Unit rate 7.04p per kWh
Standing charge 37.17p per day

14p kwh is not possible for new tarrifs now.

Why is the daily rates so low and variable so high.

Those rates are so high lol, you guys paying more than a country with 90%+ renewable generation and yet Britain has a lot of polluting generators.

only way to explain those prices is cost push, no wonder octopus is trying to set up shop in other countries where power is cheaper. Do you guys have blackouts, those prices would indicate you don't have enough generation as those prices are way above the standard cost to run generation plants - for example to generate from coal on average should cost about 4p per kWh and then add in another 4p to maintain power lines, but you're paying basically 30p per kWh wtf lol

Exactly what I am planning to do Monty. I don’t mine, but my current cheap as chips tariff ends 28th Feb 2022 so the plan then is to move to the standard tariff and hope things get sensible at some point. Have no idea how much extra it’ll cost me, but currently paying around £80-£85 per month for gas and leccy.

I've been in a cave on this really. I know whats happening etc but what I should do.....not much of a clue.

I'm with Scottish power til Feb 22. I presume I do nothing til then?

Apols off topic.

Currently the best thing to do is switch to your providers standard variable tariff when your fixed deal ends, as it will be cheaper than the best fixed tariff deal most likely and you won’t be locked in. So, if normality ever returns you can then check money saving experts energy club for the best deal. I used to switch every two years to the best deal.

6 months ago, 3080 would result in around £15/day. That’s cos the gas fee doesn’t get burnt. You get big fat blocks and difficulty was half as much as currently.

a single 2070S was getting me £7 that’s after electricity. 3080 is 100MH over 44MH which makes it around £15/day

right now 100MH is around £4-5 before electricity.

Thanks mate. Will look at this in Feb then and keep your advice to mind.

Welcome to the UK! We also import some electricity from other countries so are also dependent on the price they charge us on top of domestic production. France is the first one to spring to mind, and there is currently an argument between them and UK over fishing licenses where they've threatened to cut electricity supply lol

We also seem to love importing everything in this country, instead of going more self sufficient and keeping things in-house.

EDF literally mean Energy of France (and its owned by the French government)

The UK has about 5gw of coal power stations and 28gw of gas, if you've read the news you would know the cost of gas in the UK/EU has shot up due to Russia constraining supply (because the EU are trying to refuse them permission to build a new pipeline).

Most of the UK's non-renewable electric is gas and wholesale gas prices have shot up hence price of electric has shot up

er no? Russia supply less than 5% of UK gas needs, the bulk comes from Norway. Stop believing the Daily Mail

Try Reuters and Bloomberg, but ok
Russia provide 35% of the gas to Europe, so if wholesale prices in the EU rise, what do you think happens to the price of gas in the UK? Norway still sell it to us for half the price? Duhhhhjnmnfjfosjsg

He's right, UK gets most of gas from Norway. But UK electricity production is 50% gas. Gas prices rise, electricity prices rise.
