Metal Detector ... The recommendations

Hey all,

My little girl (9) loves her history and is keen for a metal detector for Christmas, for using around the garden and fields near our house. (we have permission)

Anyone have one or can recommend ? I am keen for something that does not require to much setup due to age of the user

I've bought & used a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV, and it does well, better than the Garrett detectors I've used in the past at a similar & greater price point.

They have a few tuneables, but very simple to use.

The Bounty Hunter was ~£120 when I bought it though (bought 1 in mid 2018 & another in mid 2019), and they seem to have increased in price substantially (~£180 now on Amazon)

They've not been used for treasure hunting as such though, so I'm unsure how well they work in that regard (they were purchased for the purpose of finding lost arrows at archery competitions)

I'm surprised there's a spot of land in the country that hasnt seen metal detector by now, people still seem to keep finding gold coins though
