Best budget smartphone these days?

My mum is after a new phone after breaking hers - what is generally regarded as the best phone at the moment in the £200-£300 price bracket?

A decent camera would be a good box to tick!

There are probably some interesting black Friday deals for that price bracket.

Pixel 4a or oneplus Nord would be good options though

I usually find that budget Samsungs have so much bloat, they’re slower than their specs suggest. They’re also last on the list for new updates compared to newer models/flagships:

Does she use Android or iOS?

Is a Pixel 4a within budget? It would be a great option as the camera is best in class and it’ll have updates for a while.
