Loud popping noises from PC

Hi.

A couple of times today my PC made a loud "popping" noise from inside the case. These happened maybe a couple of hours apart.
The computer appeared to keep working, but after the second pop I shut it down and I haven't turned it on again since.

It was only idling with a couple of chrome tabs open at the time.

The PC is about 6 years old and has a good quality BeQuiet PSU.

I've tried looking for any broken caps on the mobo and inside the PSU (as much as I can using a torch and looking through the fan and rear vent) but can't see anything obviously wrong.

How should I proceed from here?

Thanks in advance.

What case do you use? Could be just the case expanding due to the heat being produced from the components.

It's a Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 Micro-ATX.

It just seems strange that this has never happened before. It's been in the room for about 4 years

How might dust build up cause this out of interest?
Dust with humidity could actually lead to strike through between traces on PCB.
That's why PSU PCBs often have those physical cuts to PCB between primary and secondary, so that humidity can't form film on surface.
