Hi all,

I have a G502 and never really got into setting DPI and ensuring all games are consistent, I've just adapted.

So I thought I would investigate this part of setting up my game and see what is what.

I started with ensuring acceleration was OFF (I always do anyway) and pointer speed was at default (6). And simply played around with the different DPIs in ghub whilst gaming to see if I could get use to a larger travel distance. I typically have my DPI at 3600.

Then I came across https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/

My g502 is not at all close to what this site tells me in its dpi-analyser.

If I measure 1cm with any DPI setting, the site tells me I've moved 30% less. That is a massive deviation.

What am I missing? Or is the ghub dpi or sensor in my mouse just inaccurate?

I've tripped checked most things....

You should set the DPI to what feels good for you on the windows desktop then adjust the mouse sensitivity in game setting (usually in the game options menu) instead of changing the DPI.

Once you have found a sensitivity you are happy with you should measure the cm per 360 degrees (how much you move the mouse to do one rotation).

If you use that mouse sensitivity website and lookup your game, then type in your mouse setting and DPI, it will tell you your cm/360 and you can convert them to other games to match the same cm/360.

3600 DPI seems very high, common ones are 400, 800, 1600, but it is personal preference at the end of the day. You can measure it as example the distance it takes to move your mouse from one side of the screen to the other. I have 1080p monitor (1920 x 1080) and use 800dpi, so if i move my mouse it moves 1920 pixels, so (1920 / 800 = 2.4 inches or ~ 6cm) which seems correct i just measured it.

Thanks!

I'll take a look tonight. Be good to set the mouse to one DPI and be done.

One thing struggling with is the DPI I set in ghub is way off the DPI I see on that website under DPI analyser...so not sure if some thing is wrong somewhere.
