Pcie riser cable and vertical mounted gpu questions ...

@scubes the riser cable arrived and well do you understand when you look at something and think "wow that's good value" well initial impressions were not like that. For the cost is was more like "how much". But hey if it works..............

Got it fitted - very different in fitting to my last one, I hope that you have suitable offsets.
I had ran PCI Express Feature Test (from 3D Mark) and Port Royal Test benchmark, before and after. There was a slight improvement overall in fill rate and the benchmark result. They are just within an acceptable margin of error and the bottom line is that it seems to work fine. My GPU is seen as 4 Gen in a 16x slot.

Keep me updated mate don't want to go out and buy another one . Guy on the vs forum told me to check my pci express speed wete is that in my bios hero 690.

I looked at the one you noted but felt maybe the extra money was worth this Link up one, so far it works out. I got a 25cm type.

orig....

after....

@scubes I just left the link speed on Auto, iirc, within the BIOS. It picks up fine my GPU and runs the correct speed.

Everything good with several games tested so far. It just works without issues for me.

If you use GPZ you can then see your link speed.

The 3D Mark PCI check is also useful for a before and after run.

@scubes - it is very good with what it does. Not really a complaint but.........they should have covered the port where you plug the GPU in with metal, especially if you use the bottom bracket stood on standoffs. The weight and force of the GPU standing in the socket, supported only by the two standoffs can lead to a slight flex in the middle. You know that this kit costs premium money compared to others, and it does work. But they should have reinforced that socket.
Probably the best of the bunch tho - meaning it works.

I thought I had a good one but after a couple of days the frames started to drop might have a look in my bios later to see if I can see pci express speeds are in my bios ...

Mines is slower cos i have a 1tb nvme in the first slot .its meant to be slower when you use the first slot apparently .

I have the first M2 slot and then two more fully used with NVME drives. So 3 NVME drives altogether. All run, inc GPU, at expected speeds.
